Redcat Racing Landslide XTE Electric Monster Truck, 1/8 Scale, Blue

My son bought me this landslide for my birthday. I really like Redcat and I was excited to try the new landslide out. But when I first tried running it straight out of the box, the controller wouldn’t pair. So I paired it. And it worked. For maybe 5mins. And then it lost lock. So I paired it again. Same result. So I swapped controllers (I have a few redcats with exact same controller). Same result. Don’t get me wrong, I love Redcat. I’m an engineer and I really like the thought that they put into their designs. But getting the one I’d been wanting for a while, which ended up being a gift from my son, and it didn’t even work? American engineering is nothing if we don’t test out the Chinese workmanship of our products before placing them in the box. One star boys. Figure it out!!!Update 6/30/20 - urns out it may not be receiver. Noticed that the ESC is acting funny as well. Doesn't run, steering works. Turn off and on, and it works again. Then it stops and the red light on ESC comes on solid. Don't think it's worth to attempt a fix. Will return and request refund. It happens... :(Update - 8/16/20I finally got another Landslide in the mail. It’s been hard finding anything these days due to all the recent high demand. Took my new redcat out to play and I was happier than a puppy born with two peters! That thing is a monster on 4s. Loving it. Not happy I got duped on the first purchase but now I’m loving it. Will leave this I guess with an increase from 3/5 stars. Would have been a 5 if the first one worked out of the box!Update 2/18/21One of my favorite bashers in my growing collection. Fun to drive and great for general bashing. Has held up fairly well during some pretty hard bash sessions. Adding a star back. Generally more durable than most.

This thing is quick. I have had it for about a month but have only used it a hand full of times. The first weekend we blew a front tire. As this thing hits its top speeds, the wheels balloon up. Due to the force, the tread broke apart (likely due to moisture getting inside the tire, adding weight. Filling out an online warranty claim, they sent me a new tire within 1-2 weeks. After a couple more uses, the middle differential went out. Again, working with the warrantee program with RED CAT, they are sending me a replacement. This thing is super fun but some draw backs are the lead times on replacement parts. I am pleased that RED CAT works with their customers directly to ensure they are satisfied with their purchase. The Landslide is a lot of fun. Don't take this post as these things are fragile. My boys and I flipped it many times with minimal damage.

Es tremendo rc lo mejor que tiene es su durabilidad y si velocidad esta claro que tiene sus cosas como por ejemplo su servo es de 15kg deberia ser de minimo 25kg para ser un rc 1/8 es pesado corre sus 30 a 40 millas su otra cosa es sus gomas son algo grandes para su caja lo que quiero decir es que al tomar las curvas rompes la carcasa con ellas de la fuerza que tiene este rc pero digo es excelente me gusta mucho

I was extremely disappointed, I had to take it apart after the first laps around. (About 5 minutes) after some research and joining a Facebook group, I located the issue. The servo wires were ran in with the drive shaft and rubbed off the plastic on the wires. I took it apart, ran the wires in the correct port and ... SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!! I am loving it now. Someone got lazy in the factory and ran the wires in a awful spot. Not the cars fault. It's durable and SUPER FAST! Lots of fun. Highly recommend picking one up if you're interested. Only reason for the 4 stars is the factory mess up. The quality control guy needs to step up his game.

Truck is a ton of fun. It's quick and loves to tear through anything in its path. The servo horn stripped out in the first 5 minutes but I found a cheapo metal one that seems to be doing just fine. I hope Redcat heads back to the drawing board on that bit because other than that the truck has held up perfectly through a few bashes and is amazing quality for the price.

After a couple weeks of research, I was really impressed with the reviews and opinions that said this truck was the best value in the rc world. Tough and great quality at blistering 4s speeds. At 1/8 scale, it has large tires and a wide stance but will surprise you with a squeeze of the throttle. The transmitter feels good in the hand and I like that it takes only four AA batteries. I'm a bit sadden that they don't include the basic allen wrenchs but with the money you save, you can pick up any kind you want. Anyway, there is plenty of youtube reviews and clips of this truck. If you want a basher that can do jumps, dirt tracks, grass, or crazy street speeds, this is it.

Great cheap basher. 3 days in though I stripped out steering servo horn. New ones are cheap but I'm replacing with metal 25t.I recommend buying extra body pins due to no spares, lost all of mine from rolls, bobby pins and large paperclips fit. Tires are soft but grippy- front balloons like crazy and catches body on full speed at max turn and makes a horrible sound. I recommend not making sharp turns when tires are ballooned out.Runs on 2s-4s although 4s is super it requires a jumper if running single battery for 2s.Final thoughts as it sits; would recommend and would buy again.

I would recommend that people in manufacturing should pay attention to the wiring in the ESC box when placing the screw on the cover. We discovered this when our product was delivered and we inspected it before running it; thankfully we could have mended it. Otherwise, wonderful product :). You get your money worth and performance is out of the world.
