Purchased this brand of coarse ground coffee for cold brew due to the affordable price and while I tempered my expectations a bit, it absolutely delivers on the end result.I brew my cold brew coffee in a very large jar with a filtered bag using a 1:8 ratio of coffee grounds to water for about 16 hours at room temperature. I had no issues with the coffee grounds leaking through the bag or creating any sludge so the grind is great on this. I've noticed other reviewers complaining about the inconsistent grind so I will update this if I experience that with future purchases.Taste came out fine as well. I drink it straight black at the 1:8 ratio and I like it. It doesn't blow me away but it's perfectly acceptable and delivers a smooth and enjoyable taste. I'm sure most people would prefer to add cream, milk or sugar to their drink which will further enhance the flavor but just note that even the straight black result is still enjoyable.I was more than satisfied with my first experience with this ground coffee and I'll be purchasing it again in the future. I'll update my review if I encounter any issues with future purchases but for now, I highly recommend trying this ground coffee if you're looking for an affordable option.

I started ordering this coffee last summer and have been pleasantly surprised. I grind it when I'm ready to brew it and I used the French press method.I like a bold flavor with low acid, which is a difficult balance to find. I drink my coffee black, and this coffee meets my demands at a good price. This is my go-to coffee right now.

When I started buying this coffee it was $14 for 2 pounds. A real bargain and really great cold coffee. The price has gone up but for 2 whole pounds of coffee it is still a good price and I love the cold brew it makes.

I've been experimenting with various coffees for a couple years now. My wife and I have discovered that there are a lot of subtle differences between coffees. I really love the darker roast coffees, and I'm trying to sample as many as I can. This Roast Ridge just falls short, IMHO. Something is just missing here. The smell is less intense than any of the brands we've tried recently for starters. The taste buds in the upper pallete and those at the rear of the tongue just aren't stimulated as much. I can't say whether the beans are a lower quality, or the roasting process isn't quite right, but I can definitely say this coffee is lacking. There is nothing that makes this coffee distinctive. This Roast Ridge is good enough to get me out of bed, and out the door in the morning, but it lacks any great flavor.If price is really important to you, this coffee does meet that requirement. Few coffees can compete on price with this Roast Ridge. But, nicer coffees are available at only slightly higher prices.
