Great improvement, easy to diy, saved money
I installed 4 Monroe Quick struts in my 2000 Avalon, they were fairly easy to install, in Florida anyway, no rust. I talked with technical support due an issue I had with alignment. They were very helpful, I ended up downloading an app called Clinometer, which helped me to read each wheels camber using my iPad, which has a flat bottom edge and side edge with no buttons. The Toyota dealer did my 1st alignment and just set the toe, they didn’t talk to me or offer to adjust camber for an extra fee, at that point is when I talked with tech support for Monroe, they agreed on camber having some adjustments, I then downloaded the Clinometer app and adjusted my right front camber and right rear camber, which turned out to be very accurate when I had the alignment redone at Tires plus, I bought the 3 year alignment for 20 bucks more than the Toyota Dealer charged me, it is now perfect. I was able to adjust camber about .8 degrees per wheel, max pos to max neg. I’m disappointed that the dealer never discussed any adjustment, then said it’s perfect you’re all set, left front wheel was -.4, right front -1.4; right rear -.1, left rear -1.3. Final after my work with Clinometer app, l/front-.7, r/front -.6, l/rear -.7, r/rear -1.0, then tires plus set the toe, car handles perfectly. This was a huge improvement compared to the original struts which were very worn out. My advice is buy a 3 year alignment and ask upfront if they’ll adjust camber as part of the alignment or for extra $, I think the dealer just didn’t want to deal with it, I’m not going back to that dealer for any more alignment work. If they won’t set camber but you have the 3 year alignment warranty, you can go home and set the camber using a camber gauge or the app I used was very helpful, then go back and have them re-set the front and rear toe in. I figure now if I do any more steering or suspension work the alignment is covered for 3 years.

Solid replacements
I'm copy/pasting the same review to all four struts for my car:These struts are great. It's not a terribly complicated job to DIY with pretty minimal tools. I did it on a 1999 Toyota Avalon with about 160,000 on the clock. I had a small noise problem with the front right strut, where it would squeak for the first few turns on a cold day. Other than that, these made a huge improvement to the ride quality and performance of the car. My tires are lasting quite a bit better since replacing these.Extra tip: You need to redo your alignment a few days after putting these on the car. I'm not sure if everyone knows that.

Good Product Easy Install
I used these quick struts for the front of a 1999 Lexus es300. They are not listed on this site for an ES300 (they are listed for a Camry 6 cyl) but I first checked with Monroe and they told me this is the correct one as the Lexus has the 6 cyl. and needs the heavier spring of this unit. Amazon lists the 171678 for the Lexus but manufac. tells me that is not correct and is for the 4 cyl Camry. Anyway, these things are great. Once you raise the car and remove a few bolts this unit bolts right in. A complete front end solution that takes maybe 20 min to 30 min per side. No spring compressors or special tools needed. You do have to get an alignment of course when done. Only 500 miles on them so far but the car feels and sounds like when it was new. No more clunking and top seat rattle/noise. Very easy and given the excellent price on Amazon, this is a no brainer. Highly recommended but call the manufacturer to get the correct part number before you buy.

Works at great price
OK ALL my struts in my 1997 Toyota Camry were toast and my car sounded like a hideous bucket of bolts. I purchased these on a 3/4 Monroe deal - received my rebate, etc. These were installed and my car is MASSIVELY transformed - hard to believe what a functional strut assembly is. I am glad that I replaced the entire assembly as opposed to piecemeal the way Toyota Service recommended - at 3x the price.HOWEVER, the reason I have 4 stars is that these are a little soft - and have a fair amount of give. I prefer a bit stiffer handling. The bottom line is that you are paying for what you get.Regardless, they have solved my problem at a great price. I had a couple difference mechanics install them - along with some bushings - about $300 for the back - and $225 for the front with alignment. Still expensive but the parts were not the worst of it.

Monroe Quick Strut
This is the second set of Monroe Quick Struts I have purchased and installed in our 1999 Toyota Camry LE.The first set were installed at 150,000. The second set were installed at 305,000.The Quick Strut is the safest and quickest way to install struts on a car.It took me about an hour to remove and replace all 4 struts.Quick and easy.I highly recommend the Monroe Quick Strut. Great, fit, price and shipping was good. Thanks

I thought Monroe was a good brand...
After 3k miles, the struts have a low clunk noise over bumps. Also not very absorbent over rough roads, very noisy too. Spent all that money for nothing. Going to go with KYB next time. Very disappointed!

Strut came in good condition and is functioning well
I ordered struts to replace all four on my car. I was pleased with the quality. Two had some very smalls spots where the paint had chipped off and there was rust, but it was not bad. The struts are operating well (about six months now), and it is nice to buy the whole assembly. One problem I encountered was that the nuts that came with the struts were -not- compatible for the rear struts. While the thread size is correct, the newer ones were wider and not as tall. They were too wide to fit in some of the recesses in the sheet metal of the car, and too short to reach properly with tools. I am not docking the rating simply because I was easily able to use the old hardware just fine.
