This mold does hold NOT a pound of butter!!!I weighed out my butter for curiosity and found that in order to get a 1/4lb (4oz) of butter in one section I had to stack it above each section—see pictures.Now when I purchased this mold for butter I had expected, with the lines/indents on each section, I would be able to count each mark as a tablespoon of butter. This is not the case, so if you’re needing accuracy for measuring tablespoons of butter for cooking and baking this is NOT the butter mold for you!For this reason I will be returning the product.If you are not concerned about measurement accuracy then this is a pretty good mold...It’s super sturdy, so it’s a bit difficult to turn inside out for getting out your product, but it should last you for a while.

4-15-18...Review edited. Read on to the end. What I wanted, but just not enough of it. This product is very well made, flexible (rubbery) and will come in handy for little gelatin molds. I ordered another one and will have to eventually have three of them. I figure 12 cavities will be just about what I need for one batch. They're nicely stackable, too, with a flexible lid, handy for transferring liquid to the fridge before it sets. Expensive but cute. I'm not sure how it would work with really boiling hot mixtures. 4-15-18....Third mold I ordered had an extreme chemical smell that still remains after three washes and air exposure. As I wrote previously, two wasn't enough and the third isn't (to my mind) safe to use. I've just wasted around $60. Don't make my mistake and get fooled by the glowing reviews. Manufacturer either changed or relaxed their safety standards.

I’ve been keeping my old butter packing( the box and the paper, now I started making my own butter, the reuse of the old boxes, n papers. Now I pop the new butter out the mode, wrap them in the used paper n box... n freeze the extra.!

I cannot wait to use these. I've had my eye on garlic butter, and honey butter recipe's for a while now. Still waiting on my butter maker but these are going to make my life so much easier. Love the little measuring indentations.
