can you us this on flat glass boor display cabinet? or just on corner of box style?

Does there need to be a gap between the glass for this to work?

Obviously there must be a gap between the glass wall and the glass door, else would scrape together. This lock works smoothly and the key will not bend/warp like some other inferior product keys I've encountered.
