This product is a quality made product...from the leather case to the engraved quote by Thoreau on the top of the outside lid. The compass is accurate. A very special gift for a very special person in my life. However, I need to add KUDOS for the sellers/business. They went out of their way to assure my product made it in time for my daughter in law (to be) bridal tea. When I ordered the item originally, I did not realize it came from India and did not note the delivery date estimated to be after the bridal shower/tea. I contacted the seller about my concern it would not arrive in time... He sent out another compass w/case at NO EXTRA CHARGE and assured with expedited shipping it would make it for my event. This place has awesome customer service!!! I am very, very grateful, I recommend doing purchasing from this awesome business! I thank the sellers for all efforts, they were truly appreciated and my gift was loved very much by the recipient. Thank you again!!!

I am super pleased with this piece! We ordered it for a boy who just got his Eagle Scout, figuring a cute compass would be a nice gift. This is high quality and feels like we spent way more than we did! It has a nice weight to it without feeling too bulky. It is the perfect gift. I highly recommend this item for a nice, great quality, working compass. I will buy more for more gifts in the future.

Satisfactory for the price, though I would have preferred it to be a little bigger even if the price needed to increase a bit to accomplish that.

I like it. Shows well, and the inscriptions are right for my outlook. Seems like a solid chain, pouch is fine, this compass is heavy and a bit thick for carrying. The needle points true North and has a lock down slide button. I wish the dial had darker colored markings, and the inscriptions too. Maybe I'll be able to darken the inscription myself.. I paid $ 30.00 for mine, it should sell for about $ 16. - $ 22.00 . Also, mine came with an antique brass key chain with a ships steering-wheel of about 1 /12 inches wide. I'm satisfied with this purchase.

This compass was a hit as a birthday gift for my nephew. It has a great weight to it, nice patina, perfect quotes on both compass and carrying case (not all those who wander are lost), carrying case leather feels nice, chain is nice. He absolutely loved it, thought it was magical.

It’s a beautiful compass and the case is nice. I saw other reviews that said east and west were mixed up on their compasses. When you look at this compass, the painted end of the needle will point towards N on the rose when you’re facing N and it will point to S on the rose when facing S. However, the painted end of the needle will point towards W on the rose when you’re facing E and it will point to E in the rose when you’re facing W. As this isn’t an orienteering compass there’s nothing for you to adjust so that it shows the direction of travel. Just remember that the needle will always point north and if you remember where east, south and west are in regards to north then you will know which direction you’re truly facing.

I'm super happy with my new Thoreau compass. It looks EXACTLY like its pictures. The case is nice and has the Not All Who Are Lost quote on it, as pictured. The compass itself has a great weight to it, heavy and sturdy, and the compass works as well. It even came with a free gift, a small metal-encased hourglass keychain, which attaches to keys with a metal screw-lock carabiner. Definitely a great buy.

Sehr gut verarbeitet für diesen Preis. Kann negative Rezensionen nicht nachvollziehen und es gibt auch KEINE Druck und Rechtschreibfehler in der Prägung, auf dem Kompass. Ich denke die Konkurrenz will diesen Artikel einfach nur schlecht machen.. Ich bin total zufrieden!
