Almost threw this thing out, until I realized what I needed to do.Good price, came with all the important parts needed to renew.Think original fan was self destructing foe some time, due to noise.Now much quieter.Being old technology, you still have to unscrew several items, and even re-seal the metal around the fan….I used silicon sealant.This apparently keeps the suction strong through the vacuum head, and not through the crack.Altogether, it might have taken me an hour & half. Took time to do it right.Works great again and great suction again.Recommend this OEM product!

If you have a Kirby vacuum, sooner or later you will suck something through it and damage the fan. However, what is nice about Kirby is that they offer service parts for their machines for decades after the original sale. This makes them a great value over the long haul- especially used ones. This fan fits the Sentria and Generation (G6, etc.) vacuums and is the OEM part. I recommend buying it as long as you can figure out how to change it. Just remember that it is reverse thread and the spindle nut can get a bit tight since the belt is constantly tightening it as it runs. Also, remember to seal the case pieces with sealant. I personally use gray silicone for water pumps since it blends in well, If you don't, it will still work but it will leak suction. It should not be a difficult task for anyone who is mechanically inclined.

Used this to repair broken blades of my Kirby vacuum installation was pretty easy and this made it very inexpensive to get our Kirby working again!
