It's good for the price
This amp would be good for a low end single 8 or 10 inch sub or a pair lower wattage component speakers. Bridged mono on a 4 ohm 10" kicker comp (300W peak). It heats up more than I like but not enough to trigger the protection circuit. I've owned several Hifonics models over the years and these class A/B amps are built to run cool at 4 ohm per channel or 8 ohms bridged. This amp is way over rated as it only requires a 30 Amp fuse. Being as this is a class A/B amp at its best it is only about a 180 Watt amp. Taking a star away for the amount of inflation on the power rating. (Running 4 gauge power with a 2' sanded ground and 12 gauge speaker wire)Edit: I did some basic measuring and tuned to max without clipping I saw a sustained 210 Watts RMS using my installed 4 ohm sub as a load (29Volts on output). Knock off a bit because it is a dynamic load and my guess of 180 Watts was about right. FYI - I always use Billy Idol: Prodigal Blues to tune a Sub amp if doing it by ear. It has nice long notes at about 3 different sub frequencies. (Also removed a comment that was the fault of a speaker that was not broke in yet - not this amp)

Awesome Sound incredible value!
Replaced a Zapco ST-4X SQ with two of these Hifonics ZXX-500.2 in bridged mode for left & right channels. Sounds just as good to my ears. I tried the Pioneer D8604 but didn't like the way it sounded, maybe cause its digital. Really liked the Zapco sound but mine had a noise in right channel I could never get rid of. The Hifonics ZXX-500.2's have no noise issues and really clean sounding amp as I go up in volume. I'm powering a set of MTX SS7's. They are kinda big amps physically, was able to squeeze them in behind the seats of my F150 SCREW.

Good buy
Good compromise between quality and performance. I have it as a block for my hertz subwoofer. If you like high power deep bass this is not the amplifier you should buy

Solid Product
Sounds great plenty of power. I Had old-school Hifonics amps growing up. This is just an upgrade from where they were back then for my son. Installs just as any other amp would.

Gets the job done
Picked this amp up as a replacement for a 15+ year old amp. Does the job it was intended for. Would certainly recommend Hifonics products.

Amp is Excellent power to 10 inch subs bass is amazing
