JP yes Kelsey no
So this book would have been a 5/5 for me if it wasn’t for Kelsey. So this was a 4/5 for me.I loved JP in this book. Everyone thought he was this player touched up guy but actually he had a golden retriever personality that just desired to be loved. And genuinely he had me melted.Kelsey was also in the same boat wanting to be loved and trying to find it in every Avenue accept the one right ahead.I wanted to understand Kelsey more but I found her quite stubborn and unforgiving to JP when he was trying his best to please her in every way he could. The spice was subtle but enough it made sense as their relationship didn’t form until towards the end, this wasn’t a slow burn either which I liked!Meghan Quinn knows how to write a man let me tell you because I was captivated by JP I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Huxley but JP you have my heart 🤍Also the fact he loves pigeons so much had me crying with laughter and the ending was just what I needed.

JP😍
JP and his pigeon Kazoo! Loved this from start to finish! I could feel the tension between Kelsey and JP in Lottie and Huxleys book but this was worth the rollercoaster of a ride. They had ups and downs with twists and turns but their is a fine line between love and hate

So Not Meant To Be - Meaghan Quinn. MF
Boss, Enemy, Friend or Impossible. JP and Kelsey work together for their own companies but collaborate on projects. He is flirty, sarcastic and full of himself. She is OCD, environmentalist and hides her lack of self esteem, self worth, behind sassy mouth comments. She can’t stand him and his lifestyle, messy, womaniser, doesn’t do relationships.Thing is, he likes her, and everything she thinks she sees in him is a facade, he’s looking for love but doesn’t think anyone would love him for himself. JP is weird, he has strange fixation for Broken Pigeons and other creatures. He’s not happy with his role in the company.JP and his brothers, Huxley and Breaker are partners in business, they are multi millionaires in Property Market in LA. They’ve bought a landmark old building in San Francisco and need to decide how to maintain the old style of the building but using environment friendly materials etc.Huxley the eldest and leader, requests JP who is ‘the PR face of the company” and Kelsey the Environmental Organiser, go to San Francisco for two weeks to carry out an inspection and report back.Problem is Kelsey has just shut down JP in no uncertain terms so he doesn’t want to go. Especially as Huxley has arranged they stay in the Penthouse Suite in another property they own there, for two weeks.I liked JP more than I did Kelsey, maybe because she did so much negative overthinking, meh.Anyway, San Francisco turns out to be an exciting place and lots of interesting happen between these two polar opposites, some good and some OUCH.Haven’t read Meaghan Quinn before, I don’t think. The story and character development was good and the banter and steamy scenes were hot. If you enjoy MF Romance this is worth your attention.

A laugh out loud, enemies to lovers rom com
After reading A Not So Meet Cute earlier in the year I was excited to get JP and Kelsey's story after he set her eyes on her and she was not in the least bit interested. The story is an enemies to lovers, employer, employee forced proximity romance. JP is such a sweet Hero and misunderstood by many including Kelsey (our heroine). Seen as the playboy of the family JP is not even on Kelsey's radar for a love match, and she knows all about those. As well as running her own Eco friendly organisation company, Kelsey also has a Podcast about how couples meet. This is where I have to applaud Meghan for the barrage of easter eggs this allows. Because of the Podcast we get the Meet Cute stories and little updates on so many of Meghan's previous characters, that is a standout element to this book for me.There are plenty of laugh out loud moments and the depantsing scene in particular had me howling with laughter. Listening to this scene on Audio was absolutely hilarious, Aaron Shedlock and Stella Hunter nailed it! When JP and Kelsey are forced to spend two weeks together in San Francisco the romance element of the book really starts to blossom. At times I felt sorry for JP, he really does pine for Kelsey as he realises she could actually be the person for him. Kelsey however is a little late to that game and she can be quite harsh towards JP at times but thats the enemies to lover trope as it's meant to be.Finally we get to see a fair bit of Huxley and Lottie from A Not So Meet Cute towards the end of the book and I love that Meghan's ties characters in almost like an extended epilogue as we go along. So Not Meant To Be was an audiobook ARC for me and as a lover of Stella Hunter and Aaron Shedlock I was really looking forward to listening to this one. I have to say they did not disappoint performance wise. The duet narration flowed seamlessly as if they were actually having the very conversations they were portraying. One I will listen to again I have no doubt. The hardcover illustrated version is just that extra special edition to any readers collection. I love this addition to the story.
