Zap Comix No. 0 Comic – January 1, 1967

I have all the Zaps to date, beginning with the first issue that I bumped into in a Detroit "head shop" where I used to search out underground comics in days of yore. I discovered Crumb even earlier, when I read an illustrated review of his Fritz the Cat compilation and suddenly was sure that I had seen that drawing style in another life. Of course I hadn't, but as I followed Crumb's work through the years I realized the he was by far the greatest cartoonist of his era (well, maybe not: Walt Kelly, anyone?). The fellow contributors to Zaps were also wonderful discoveries, particularly Gilbert Shelton (also 5 stars) and "Spain". Things that needed to be said during the era, and nobody else was saying them.

I'd purchased this because it contained the last Wonder Warthog story (written in 2004). The rest of the stories... *sigh*. I'd forgotten how crude underground comix were back in the day. But the copy itself was pristine and I thank you for shipping it that way.
