Best Keyboard/Case--Almost turns iPad into AirBook!
OK, I've only had the ClamCase for 2 days, but here are my initial impressions. First, the keyboard is OUTSTANDING! The keys are close to normal size, are rubber and have a very nice feel so that I rarely make errors typing. A big plus for me. Second, everything works as advertised. The case is solid, the keyboard turns off when you close the case, and turns on when you open it. I really like it's functionality. Without getting into technical details, it feels very much like a mini Mac Airbook with a touch screen, and that appeals to me!I have seen a few glitches, where bluetooth shuts down, and the keyboard stops working, but these are easily fixable. The case arrived on time, and the instructions are very clear and simple. Several people have complained about iPad chargers not working. If you stick with the Apple charge cords, its no problem, and I think that is a small price to place to have this beautiful keyboard and case.I was surprised when the case arrived and included a white exterior (I can't remember seeing any choice), with a shell to hold the iPad and cover it. Somehow, I thought the clam case would only connect at the hinges, but I can now see that is an impossible solution. Despite the surprise, I like the white color and the overall design and construction is well made.I will report back in a few weeks, but right now, I can say that this is a superior product, well worth the price.

Junk
This new clamcase took a long time coming & you would have thought that the company would have gotten it 100% right. Unfortunatly that is not the case. Although the case is beautiful & functional the headphone opening only allows for iphone earbuds. I can no longer use my Bose or any other headphones while my iPad is docked in the case and this makes the product useless for me for travel. I was almost willing to accept the outrageous price but this is a deal breaker.* Update: This product is a piece of junk. It has been coming apart starting 30 days after I purchased it and it looks like it is going into the trash can today. The plastic corners cracked and the aluminum cover to the keyboard came apart from the base. I would no longer recommend this product.

I recently received the clam case pro for my iPad air. It's a very nice case but I was a little dissappointed for a couple of reasons. For one thing, it's white. I thought from looking at the pictures that it was totally silver. I wish it was. The white makes it look a little cheap. Also, this case is quite heavy. It adds quite a bit of weight to my iPad which I always take with me. This case makes it annoying to carry around because it's so heavy. The other thing that's driving me crazy is that when I put the case in tent mode, it keeps turning my sound off. I think it's because this case is so heavy that the sheer weight of the thing resting on the volume buttons keeps shutting the sound off. It's really annoying. If I want to listen to something I can't put it in the tent position. Other than those few things, it's a nice case. Very sturdy and the keyboard is nice to the touch.

good on balance but some problems - take a careful look at specs!
good but with some problemsfor a year or two had a trent one of these but when the old one died the new one (from trent) was a piecce of crap - flimsy, crappy plasticso I was looking forward to this onemany good things - keyboard is fine, easy insertion (almost converted to Catholicism with the trent one as I was sure the time would count aginst my time in purgatory)down sidesit is probably overpriced - while I on balance like it not sure worth the moneykeybard is of course tine and it is very easy to shut down without meaning tobigger problem (that they don't tell you about till you call customer service) is that theports are done so that they are ONLY compatible with apple devices - ie you can't chargeit with amazon charger, staples, etc. ONLY apple - rather a pain given the cost of the latterthe rep admitted they didn't advertise this part - I could send it back but what a hassleI'm giving this a 4 but it possibly should be a threeAddendum 6 months later ---corner cracked to point iPad falling outBig issues w audio plugCustomer support not horribly responsiveNot sure will get again!Sigh!

Average product w/ergonomical challenges
Pros - really like the style, functions, and sturdiness of this case. Very nice. When it works - a 4 start product.ConsVolume buttons on clam don't line up with IPAD. As a result, occasionally volume will just start dropping out on you. You also have to adjust volume for movies on the screen and not the buttons.Earphone plug doesn't fit easily into jack. Took a small drill bit and enlarged.Non-Apple charging cords don't fit the cable jack. Very inconvenient. Took the drill bit to it and increased by 20% (see photo).Camera lens does not line up with Clam opening. See photo. Have not brought out the drill bit yet but will.I've now started noticing glitches in the blue tooth after a couple of months. This is an example of what happens when you fall in love with a product you should have returned. I've jacked around with small modifications to address issues that pop up. Now that the functionality with the blue tooth seems to be going South - I'll buy something different.Obviously - all modifications were done with IPAD out of the case. Finally - after a couple of months - I've started having problems with blue tooth connectivity. Its increased from 2-3% of the time to 10%. I will most likely ditch the case and go with something different.
