A fun, banter filled meet cute
What a fun concept. With likeable characters and an interesting storyline. I really enjoyed this story. Following the twitter war and the slow burn between Jack and Pepper, I found that I couldn't put this book down.

Good
Q: Could a Twitter war turn into something real?-This story follows Pepper and Jack. Pepper is a top student who secretly runs her moms business corporate account which comes under fire when they are accused of stealing a small time cafe’s recipe for a grilled cheese sandwich. Unbeknownst to Pepper and Jack the pair are fighting one another online whilst falling for the other in real life.-Sooo this was a great read which I could’ve probably done quicker if my week wasn’t as busy and i weren’t doing a readalong however, it was a great read! I give it 4.5 stars out of five because it was just missing something for me, I’m just not sure what. The characters are highly relatable in their demeanour and their relationship is definitely cute. I do recommend it especially if you’re in a reading slump, it’s fast paced and easy going.-Q: Would you read this? What did you think?

Cute and fun
Honestly didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did, but I read it on a plane and the flight passed in no time. A light and entertaining read that would probably have made me hungry if I wasn't both coeliac and lactose-intolerant and therefore not well suited to consuming grilled cheese.

A great feel-good page-turner!
It was just what I needed after having a bit of a reading slump - a cute, feel-good and pacy story with believable plot line and realistic, teenage characters. Highly recommend as a quick, enjoyable read to devour in one or two evenings 🍂

Pepper-Jack!
Pepper has to take control of her mom’s massive food chain (BLB) twitter account whilst barely juggling her school duties. Enter Jack, and his twin shadow, Ethan who work at their family’s deli. However, when BLB apparently ”steals” Jack’s grandma special grilled cheese recipe, Jack and Pepper start a cheese and banter war on twitter. All is fun and fair until their war goes viral.Unknown to Pepper and Jack, they are also forming another friendly-romantic relationship on an anonymous chat app Jack built. As this battle on Twitter gets more personal and the anonymous app could reveal Pepper’s identity, even these two rivals can't ignore their awkward affection for each other. This might be my favourite YA contemporary read so far!! This book had a practical storyline that was so easy to understand (my twitter account is not functioning though😂). The characters!!!! I loved Pepper-Jack!! The side characters were fantastic as well. This was a fantastic debut.

Cute, light read of two teens fighting a Twitter war and predictably falling in love. Entertaining and light - especially suited for a quick beach read or a break from heavy topics.

Yeah, that was cute.
3.5 StarsTweet Cute is the perfect modern teen romance story set in a Gossip Girl style Manhattan school. Pepper's family owns a large chain restaurant and Jack's a small New York deli. After some accusations of a stolen recipe a Twitter war ensues between the two brands. The premise is interesting and the plot is very week written with a lot of witty moments, pop culture references, and great pacing. However, after the Twitter plot dies down the book loses momentum, mixing a bunch of other conflicts that don't land as neatly. At the end I was a bit over some characters that just had terrible personalities (*cough Pepper's mom, Jack's dad, and Ethan *cough). But overall this was a just a sweet read. I liked it, I just didn't love it.

Loved it!
I LOVED this - so much fun and exactly the uplifting, sweet, funny and wholesome read I was looking for during lockdown. It's got lots of great YA tropes but never felt cliched, and is fresh and fun without ever feeling cringy. The Twitter battles, the baking & the clean romance combined to make a book that made me feel so much better after reading it than I did before (and made me really want to try baking Monster Cake). I bought it on my Kindle but will be buying a physical copy because I want to be able to see this book on my bookshelf! And I'll definitely be pre-ordering Emma's next book, YOU HAVE A MATCH.
