C.B. TitusArmor: A Progression Fantasy Epic

Amazing Standalone Book, But Sadly Not Progression Fantasy!
Rating: EpicReview (By Oscar): While I loved this new, standalone book by C.B. Titus, it was by no means a progression fantasy novel. The story is filled with magic that reminds me a large amount of D&D, however the MC never actually progresses in power. Speaking of the MC, it is one of the most creative characters that I have seen in a while. The main character in Armor takes the form of an animate, suit of armor monster, that disobeyed its master - and creator - to live a life of adventure. Throughout the story he showcases the powers he was endowed with, including, but not limited to, enhanced strength and durability, along with an extra-dimensional storage space inside of him. The world feels expansive and vast, and we get to see how past events have impacted the present through the memories that the MC stole from its "meals." Aiding the MC in his adventures is a cast of multi-faceted, interesting, diverse characters. Unlike many other books which are more plot driven, I would make the case that this story is more character driven, which was extremely refreshing and exciting to read. Still, the plot is not lacking in the slightest and even in just over 400 pages, the story packs an intriguing mystery, rising powers, and the characters actions to these struggles without feeling rushed in the slightest. Overall, I really loved this fantasy book, and though I would be hesitant to call it PF, would certainly recommend you read it!If you want to read other reviews like this check out progressionalfantasyreviews!

A very entertaining read.
It's a different concept from most fantasy books. And that makes it stand out. I really enjoyed the concept of the armor and how it came to be. How the amor discovered right and wrong and very quickly made life long friends. The book has a lot of action and not and you can tell who the villains are easily. You won't need a wiki for the series to remind yourself of who a character is.It also has a definite end point in the book. Most books today seem to go for the how many books can I write about this character? It's refreshing to find someone that made a standalone book that is very entertaining.I put the author on my follow list.As soon as I am done with this review I'll see if there are other books. And I only do writen reviews on books that I love.

Good read
A good read from the author. Plenty of action and adventure and developing storyline between characters. Fast intrinsically linked action.

A fun fast paced romp through adventure.
The story focuses on a suit of cursed or enchanted armor with personality. There are fights, sunken treasure, dragons magic swords and a surprising amount culinary distractions9.85/10

A satisfyingly unique tale
Thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It's a complete story, with no hanging threads and an enjoyable ending I honestly didn't see coming.I also enjoyed the main character--an enchanted suit of armor made for a unique perspective with unique abilities. It's something I haven't read before in any other shape or form.I agree with another reviewer in that I wouldn't necessarily title this a progression, as the progression is more about the growth in personality, character and depth than any growth in power. Although the main character does gradually gain strength. But in all honestly that focus on character development was my favorite part!As another reviewer mentioned, it feels like this has threads of the best storytelling of a D&D campaign. There's plenty of comedy and characters with enjoyable quirks and comradery that remain true to themselves.I'm now eagerly awaiting the next thing from this author! Looking forward to another wonderful read.

Great Book.
I don’t usually write reviews but the book really was great. The characters are all well done a fleshed out. The ending is amazing and quite surprising. From start to finish the story is epic. Even though I think the story could have been spread out over several books the pacing doesn’t feel rushed and all the plot threads and character arcs her seen to completion. Great book and will definitely read any other book from the author.

Highs and lows
The book had alot of ups and downs. The premise was supreme, the beginning was enticing, the middle was interesting and pulled me in even further, towards the end it just kind of crashed, then burned a bit, and finally the last chapter and epilogue ended on a good note.Very minor Grammer and spelling issues, a couple here and there, but not enough to be immersion breaking. The plot was excellent, the main character was interesting if a bit normal personality wise, the main side characters were all excellent.Downsides- multiple interludes with POV changes- politics and scheming trope- God's not interfering even if it dooms everyone trope- No character growth, either in personality or strength, except at the end- minimal self reflection and introspectionIt IS a good book, but far from an amazing one.

Well written
Good story with a solid conclusion, my only complaint (not a real one mind you) is that the story is finished and I can't read more.

A Great World and Great Characters!
Highly reccommend reading this book and getting immersed in the world and the characters that are all so uniquely wonderful!!! I'm not usually a very expressive reader but there were parts that literally made me shriek out loud (pg 438.... if you know you know uh oh guess you'll have to read it to find out) Also my fave character is Stone he's so funny by pg 16 i was like YOU. While weiting this review I was paging through to my favourite sections and ended up just rereading half the book so seriously! It's too good!!!

I do love a good story
It's a nice, one-and-done, satisfying tale and definitely worth a read. A sharp eye and half-decent nerd background will let you spot countless little nods to famous art productions that clearly inspired the author. I must say, it all makes the book that much more enjoyable. I recommend it.

A great succinct story
*Spoiler free*An interesting read all the way through, the combat is imaginative and the characters feel like an actual party of adventurers with their own personalities.Since it's a single book, the pacing is well done and I didn't notice any major lull in the story at any point.I always worry about the ending in a book I'm enjoying but I found it fairly satisfying and a fitting end.Honestly enjoyed it all the way through, can't recommend it enough :)
