Works. You have to do the aiming yourself. Can’t just set it down. Your welcome!

I figured it was just a gimmick that would rarely work if ever. When it showed up and it was so small/ cheap feeling, I knew it would never work. So I lit a cigarette and went outside with another, in the device as instructed and set it on the ground in the sun. Within a second smoke poured out from the tip of the cigarette. I removed it and put it out. Then repeatedly put it in and watched smoke instantly pour from the tip of the cigarette. So I finished smoking my cigarette and then tried a stick. It took a few seconds but it too began to smoke. While it was not enough to get a fire going with just a stick, I think if I had used a cloth or bark material it would have been able to actually catch fire. So potentially this could be used in a life saving situation

Here's how you should aim it: Place the mirror between you and the sun. In other words, you should face the sun (sunglasses are needed) and look over the top of the mirror. Then, aim the mirror until you see a bright spot on the item you are trying to ignite.

Its a nice device to start a fire or cigarette for a prepper backup. I figured how to make it work, you have to direct it to the sun, then rotate it around and look for the suns focal point looking from the side of the dish, you will see the suns directed energy then hold it at that point and the paper will start to smoke.

Plastic not metal. Must be patient and not move. After 10 or 15 minutes could work. As described. You get what you order.

I really didn't think this thing would work...I mean why would it? It's cheap and it's a crazy idea. But it actually works. Easy too. I put it together, grabbed a dry oak leaf off of my porch, rolled it up and stuck it in the holder. It took a little 'aiming' to get the light on the leaf (just like a magnifying glass) but when it hit the leaf just right, it started smoking in about 3 seconds

Made of inferior plastic, the device does not reflect enough light to ignite anything quickly. Don't know how this could be effective in the real world.

A waste of money.
