Now I have to say, I tend to have a love/hate relationship with keyboards, especially gaming keyboards. The "good" ones to me tend to be very chunky, big keys, etc. I keep thinking of an IBM Selectric typewriter, and if you don't know what that is then get off my lawn.Now my daily computer is a MacBook Pro. I use the Magic Keyboard when docked and, well, it's a low profile keyboard that I like very much. Going from that to a pro-level mechanical gaming keyboard is really a shift. So here, Razer seems to have solved my dilemma. This is a low profile keyboard but it does have a positive response that is expected from a gaming keyboard. But it also straddles a line between pure gaming and pure general use. In that it works, and works well. Think of this as a keyboard that isn't 100% focused on the gaming.Now then, about the functionality. It does what it's supposed to do, though some things are little absent. Media control buttons are just those...buttons. No scroll wheels or dials. Odd to me. Layout is generally as expected, and I'm old school enough to really want the ten key there. The clicking of the keys is a nice thing to me, as it does provide some positive feedback...the keyboard isn't as mushy as a purely membrane keyboard. It's not quite as positive though as purely mechanical either. Yes, I confirm the ad copy that this is a hybrid, which does require some compromise.So this all said, lighting is in ZONES and not individual keys. This gets me a bit perturbed as I kind of like WASD to be set off from the rest of the keyboard. The zones are mostly decent, in that I mean the two right hand zones follow the format of the keyboard, but after that I'm not seeing a rhyme/reason to the zone borders. And yeah, you have to use Synapse/chroma for the functionality and colors. That is, well, I'm not reviewing Synapse but I'll say I have a love/hate relationship with it.I like the wrist rest, and really recommend keeping it on there especially if you're using this as an everyday keyboard. I like having it there for general use, but in gaming I tend to remove it and rotate the keyboard slightly clockwise to make it more accessible with my left hand. It responds well enough for this amateur gamer. It has great build quality for the application, inasmuch as it's not designed to take a serious pounding but it IS sturdy enough to work well for most anything under that.Responsiveness is similarly appropriate. It's wired only, so take that into account...you'll need a USB port.So I like it. A lot. It's not a pro keyboard, but I'm not a pro. Accounting for the compromises, I don't see anything there that seriously impedes the mission of the product. Yeah, the zone lighting is a bit yuck, and the anti-ghosting...isn't there...but for shall we say motivated amateur use I like it a lot.

I immediately love this bc it’s hello kitty!!!!! Like duhhhh lol. I would say it’s a little loud. But that does not bother me. I love the lights on it and you can customize it as well!

So after two years I figured I'd do a basic review on this. All keys have held up great, there is some wear on my most used keys (WADS, shift, C, etc). However with about 3 thousand hours of gaming on this particular keyboard (yes, T H R E E thousand), I'm surprised that I can even read those keys. The lighting works well still. Cleaning it is an absolute pain but that's on me for eating crumbly things at my desk.The reason for 4 stars is that I've started to have a issue with the keyboard just being dead randomly. Unplugging it and replugging it in fixes it, but it's starting to get a bit annoying.

This keyboard is just the right amount of sound and has had no issues gaming with it. The keyboard is super responsive and colorful.

Very nice quality, the clicks are smooth and not too noisy. The arm rest is very hard and firm but that works for me

Not as good as the discontinued Cynosa V2.The bad:1) Issues waking Windows 10. Ever since installing the software, an old issue with wake came back that I had with the Cynosa. PC will wake up, then go back to standby. Happened the next day after I installed the software. This has been a recurring issue over the years and Razer hasn't really focused on it as much as they should2) The lighting feels muted and blurred vs the Cynosa V2. I'm not sure what difference is underneath they keys, but it is way more cloudy. The wheel effect isn't as sharp/divided. Looks more like water. Honestly YMMV, but I definitely liked the clarity of color division on the Cynosa.3) Configuring your preferred lighting feels disconnected at times. Having to enable the Visualizer means you have to disable Chroma. This also completely turns off they keyboard's lighting turns and stays off no matter what you do. I can only guess the Visualizer isn't compatible with this. Lighting comes back on after disabling Visualizer. It's strange you have to toggle apps on and off4) Either you're forced to sign in or you always have to click on "continue as guest." The software has grown over the last few years and it has all this other stuff that most likely won't be used. What is Axon? I didn't want that, but you get a whole software bundle sweet up front and most of the time it's uselss.5) Volume slider in Windows 10 has one for Razer. There's no way to turn this off. I don't need more things added to my volume slider when I have to look for things to mute or or turn down when streaming or voice chatting over discord playing games online with friends.The good:1) Media keys/FN shortcuts. Having a volume up, volume down, and mute. Having the ability to put your PC in standby with FN+Pause is great. These are the two biggest reasons I bought this keyboard. (The manual way is Win+X -> U -> S)2) Noise level is decent. I'm not a fan of loud switches where you can hear someone typing halfway across the house or the office. I wish these were quieter, but they're definitely quieter than the standard mech kb'sWishful thinking:My previous keyboard is loud and I'm going to buy silent switches to replace it. One thing it has is a removable cable. Any keyboard's wire will fray or collect dust over time. Having it removable lets you disconnect for easier cleaning.
