I must have ordered the wrong size and called the company directly to ask about how to do an exchange to a different size. Bruce (Holland Hats) spent almost 10 minutes making sure I got what I wanted in the size (I needed a 7 1/2) and color I was looking for. Very considerate and understanding!He sent me the new hat expedited (at no extra cost to me) and it arrived in 2 days! Right size and color.This is a quality hat and a nice looking hat. Nice stitching and the hat holds its shape very nicely. It has decent air flow and plenty of protection against the sun without having ridiculously wide brims. It also has a pocket in the top of the hat for storing an ID or credit card. On the inside, it also has instructions for machine washing and air drying. It has a string for putting under the chin in windy conditions and is easy to remove (and store in the pocket) if you don't want it "hanging around".Again, excellent customer service, great quality, and the price is set correctly considering the quality of the hat.Thanks Hollan Hats and thanks Bruce! I bought my first Tilley hat (Cotton Duck wide brim) in 1979 and it is still going strong. I wore it all over the world in the most remote and inhospitable places, dry deserts, humid jungles including a few accidental dips in rivers, on beach vacations, sailing etc. It withstood all kinds of abuse; after a myriad washings, it did not shrink, it is still intact, the seams are strong and the grommets discolored but still firmly attached. Even though it is weather-beaten and lightly stained, it still is in such good shape that I could not justify sending it to Tilley's for a new replacement . So I bought a new one in a different color.This T3 is built from the same very strong sailcloth as all the Duck Tilleys; the detail is superb, the workmanship is excellent and the fit is just right.The tag says that the fabric blocks 98% of harmful UVA/UVB radiation and UPF 50+ ultraviolet protection.Because the material is pre-shrunk, shrinkage after a wash is not a problem. It is a good idea after a wash to air dry the hat, but first stuff a large towel inside it to keep its shape. A wrinkled brim can be easily ironed.The manufacturer recommends for a proper fit that one should be able to insert two fingers (flat) between the forehead and the inside rim to avoid pressure (indentation mark) on the forehead. In a breeze, the windcord keeps the hat in place; I can attest to that.Tilley's attention to detail and quality merchandise, are equal to my all-time favorite purveyors of superb (safari/outback) clothing, Willis & Geiger, which unfortunately are no longer available.

This is my second Tilly T3. My first lasted through 18 years of abuse and sun/salt. I got every cent of useful ware out of it. Tilly should put the brag tags back in the crown pocket. The tags in mine sold more hats!

I have two older Tilley hats made in Canada and I bought this thinking it was still made in Canada. Not so. The brim doesn't sit nice and flat like the old ones and is wavy. Definitely not made with 'Canadian persnickidiness' like the older hats yet they are still charging a premium price. Alex Tilley would be ashamed.

I wear it to go sailing and that's the perfect hat for that!Also I think it looks pretty good :-)

I have owned these Tilley hats for many years and know my size exactly. It may not sound important, but a quarter of an inch is the difference between tight and comfortable.
