FODMAP SOLUTION is in Your Kitchen
The Low-FODMAP Diet is designed for people plagued by digestive issues such as: IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease and (IBS) (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Crohn’s, Gerd (acid reflux) and peptic ulcers. In addition to stopping smoking, This diet recommends reducing the amount of foods that fall under the categories of fructabs (ex. wheat), galactans (ex. legumes), lactose (ex. dairy products), fructose (ex. honey and some fruits), sugar alcohols (ex. stone fruits & cauliflower). These foods are high in fermentable Oligasaccharides, Disaccarides, Monosaccarides, and Polys, whose first letters make up the acronym FODMAP. With 83 recipes using whole foods and a 14-day meal plan, anyone looking for help with their digestive disorders would benefit from reading this book and using the recipes, which are quite comprehensive and avoid narrow dietary restrictions. The recipes plus the list of Foods to Avoid, Foods to Enjoy as well as What to Stock in Your Pantry are well worth the cost of the book.

Good guide for IBS sufferers
he FODMAP Solution is intended as a guide for those who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, GERD, or other disorders that make it uncomfortable, even painful, to eat – FODMAPS being an acryonym for the stuff that causes inflammation. This book is quite careful to explain it is not a weight-loss book, but an 'eating comfortably' book, and I appreciate the avoidance of the easy sensationalism. (That said, most people don't pay very good attention to what they eat, so anything that does that can help you eat better.) While I don't have a GI tract disorder myself, so I can't say first-hand how good these recipes are for that, I do know people who do and they eat along very similar lines, so the advice is likely to be sound. The recipes themselves look quite acceptably tasty for anyone, so this book is a good guide if you've been diagnosed with IBS or something similar.

Why not give it a try?
I truthfully hadn't heard of the FODMAP diet before stumbling upon this book. This method of what is identified as the "science of eating," assists in identifying the foods that work and don't work with your personal digestive system. The goal is to follow a low-FODMAP diet, especially for those with digestive issues, as high-FODMAP diets may result in inflammation, ulcers, acid reflux, and a plethora of other digestive disorders that could potentially become quite serious. A high-FODMAP diet yields harmful bacteria your intestines that are particularly harmful for those with lactose intolerance, celiac's disease, and various other food allergies. The FODMAP diet plan comes complete with a 14-day menu plan, that is even conducive to those on gluten free diets, or even us vegetarians (which I particularly appreciate). The recipes sound delicious and simple to prepare. Though its a newer approach to cleaner eating, I'm definitely open to giving it a go.

Lost In the World of Food?
I know what I like to put in my mouth is not always good for me. Fodmap Solution breaks down why I feel the way I do when I eat certain foods and gives me step-by-step solutions for IBS and food allergies. By the way, I didn't even know that I had some of the food allergies until I read the symptoms in this book. I am excited that I can pass this book on to my friends with Crohn's disease and perhaps give them relief that has escaped them thus far.The author also includes really great recipes which makes all the difference between knowing about a problem and having a practical way to solve the problem. Fodmap Solution is a shining example that better health doesn't have to exist in a medication bottle, but instead by making better food choices. This will be my food bible. :)

a clear strategy for reducing your digestive ills
This book provides a clear strategy for folks that suffer from IBS or other persistent digestive issues. It identifies the foods that are likely to cause problems and then lays out a strategy to identify which specific foods cause you problems, personally. The book presents a baseline "safe" diet, to which a person will then add one possibly-problematic food at a time. This way, people do not necessarily need to rule out whole classes of foods that _might_ be a problem. I was impressed with this clear, obvious-once-you've-heard-it strategy that may very well eliminate a lot of misery for people without having to rely on the "forever pills" that Big Pharma would like to sell you. The book also provides scores of tasty-sounding recipes.

Very informative
This book has a lot of great information. It discusses the science behind why people have digestive issues and explains what is actually happening in your gut when certain foods are eaten. This book also has 10 common signs to look for to see if you have a digestive order and shows you the foods to avoid so that your digestive track can heal and break down food properly. The FODMAP diet book also provides a menu plan and a list recipes that you can make your own once you know which foods you should and shouldn't eat. It's a slow process to figure out what could be causing digestive issues, but I enjoyed that they explained the why and the how behind it all.

A new food revolution-forget it.
I saw this advertised in a national newspaper and as an IBS sufferer it looked like the solution, but to be honest I just could not cut out all the foods on the list. It was too evasive for me. I have now given the book to a friend who told me they were on this "diet" and it was working for him, he is 30 years younger than me! He had seen this article too but hadn't bought the book so he was very grateful for it.
