What fun!
"Pajama Time!" is one of the best books ever for toddlers! Perfect for the end of a toddler's day, and a nice counterpoint to reading "Hey! Wake Up!" in the morning. I bought these, along with four or five other Boynton board books, to read to my 1-year-old grand-daughter. What's not to love about lyrics like "Pajammy to the left, pajammy to the right, Jamma, jamma, jamma, jamma, P!J!"? Some other favorites: "Barnyard Dance," a rousing and bouncing good time, and "Snuggle Puppy," a grandmother's perfect excuse to bestow lots of hugs and kisses.I'm a reading education specialist, and I love Boynton's books for the following reasons:-Sturdy board books, great for little hands-Colorful, uncomplicated pictures-Simple vocabulary familiar to a young child but with the occasional unexpected zinger thrown in (like "aardvark" at the end of "But Not the Hippopotamus")-Rhyming verse, wonderful for introducing young prereaders to the cadence of language-Stories based on everyday events familiar to even very young children-Gentle humorHere's a tip for readers: Boynton books are meant to be kinetic. Lean to the left and right, dance the barnyard dance, sing the song-verses, ~whisper~ the little words and BOOM out the words in all caps, smack kisses loudly. These books aren't just read; they're experienced. Boynton books make reading fun--the better to entice little ones into becoming enthusiastic lifelong readers. (They're fun for the adult reader, too, and bear up well under requests for repeated readings.)

Bedtime fun book
We loved reading this to our kids and enjoy giving it to others. We'll still quote from the book for bedtime even though our kids are all teens now.

My 2 year old’s new favorite!! 🌙
This book was on the back of one of our other Boynton books, and my 2 year old kept pointing at it. Now that he’s becoming more verbal, I’ve been using her books to practice new (and other common) words. Naturally, I had to buy this one since he seemed so interested in it. SO GLAD I DID! This has quickly become one of his favorites. I was a little afraid at first, because it reads more like a song. It doesn’t have to be, but I end up singing and almost rapping the words a bit. This book has great rhyming and a good flow to it. It’s one of the longer ones (longer than Moo, Baa, La La La, and a little longer than The Going to Bed Book). After only a few days, he memorized the words. I usually leave the last word off and hold a long pause, in hopes he’ll finish the sentence. Some of the words & phrases are a little tricky, like “Pajama Time,” but there’s a lot he CAN say!As with most other board books, sometimes I change the wording a bit. I’ll shorten pajama to PJ, or add in something funny that relates to my son. He gets so excited about this book that he brings it to me all day long.I highly recommend this and all other Sandra Boynton books if your little one is learning to talk!! We’ve been reading them since he was about 5 months, and he loves every single one.Hope this helps! ☺️

Pajama Time! Now Bedtime!!
Pajama Time is right up there with The Going To Bed Book. I love the way Boynton can turn quiet down and get ready for bedtime into a good time. Taking a bath, brushing our teeth and putting on pj's becomes a little dance party in our house. A quiet dance, moved very smoothly and the next thing little one knows, she's almost asleep. My granddaughter has never had a bedtime or routine, she's about to turn two and desperately needed to learn that after dinner she will have a bath and follow with a routine to bed. I've been doing this with her most nights, (including book time) and evenings are becoming so much easier. I've incorporated several wonderful books that follow the same storyline; we started with Llama Llama, then The Going To Bed Book and Pajama Time, most recently added Nighty Night. Such a nice set to have to choose from mixed in with plenty of other characters she loves (we're waiting on Pookie's Bedtime too) in our rotation.Wonderful purchase and highly recommended for babies up through preschool, just don't be surprised when your 5 or 6 year occasionally asks you to find this one or brings it to you to read too!

Classic Bedtime Story!
This was a well-loved regular for storytime when my kids were little, as were many of the other Boynton books. It's not too long, and is a fun one to read with rhythm or like a song. I picked a few of our favorite board books to give as a baby shower gift and this one made the cut!

One of the best bedtime books ever
This was such a hit with our grandson, we had to get a copy for our granddaughter for her first Christmas. There's no resisting the bouncy, fun prose with colorful cute images. Before our grandson was 2, he'd memorized this (and several other Boynton board books). We expect our granddaughter will do the same. This is worthy favorite.
