Engaging story lines
My 7 year old daughter loves these books. They provide an engaging storyline, along with pictures for visual engagement. There are both easy and challenging words which helps with reading development. I’d recommend.

My 8 year olds favorite book series!
I wanted my girl to get into reading. She loves animals, magic and stories about kids around her age. Good messages in the book, and I finally have her hooked on reading!

Great books - we all love them
My daughter is 6 years old, and an advanced reader for her age. However, she doesn't enjoy books without pictures and she doesn't like reading chapter books on her own (I totally get it).BUT, I wanted to push her just a tiny bit to branch out, so I purchased these for us to read together. She is completely hooked! She and her younger sister absolutely love this series. Usually I'll read a chapter, and then the girls and I will discuss what we've read, what we think about characters, who we think is the "bad guy" etc. It's been great for developing their reading comprehension skills, and getting them to love books and reading. Bonus - it's great fun for me too, I love the books just as much as they do!

Great series for kids
Fabulous series. Highly requested in our elementary school library. As soon as the books come in they are checked back out. Very popular series with our second and thirs grade students. The books are holding up well to lots of use.

Very occult magic heavy and some what scary
Books were well written and my daughter generally enjoyed them. That said, it should be noted that the story was far less light hearted and fun, and more scary and intense, then I was expecting, with lots of occult themes and nightmare fuel monsters tormenting the girls. That's not necessarily a bad thing if that's what your looking for, and it didn't seem to bother my daughter, but its something to be aware of. We were expecting Unicorn Academy or Pokemon, and got Goosebumps or Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
