Comfortable and works seamlessly with my garmin watch
I purchased this so I could have higher accuracy (and more responsive) heart rate readings than my watch gives me, and so that I could specifically run a lactate threshold test to better set up my heart rate zones. I pair this with a garmin forerunner 965 and so far it has worked seamlessly.Pretty simple unboxing, but not a lot of information is given. It does not just pair automatically, but has to be added to the watch. Its relatively simple, but there is a step required to do it. Then when worn and starting an activity, the watch automatically recognizes it and uses data from the strap over its own sensors. As far as I can tell, the heart rate readings I am getting from it are accurate and responsive, though in my case, I am not sure its a massive improvement over the optical heart rate sensor I am already using. Though I am sure its still an improvement.Running the lactate threshold test was handled by my watch, but it required an external heart monitor and again as far as I can tell it works well. The watch reports my heart rate changes quickly when I change pace and while I have yet to do any sprint intervals with it yet, I imagine it will fare much better than the watch, which could often miss the entire interval before my heart rate would respond on the watch.

Fantastic supplement to Garmin smartwatch
I bought this HRM Pro specifically for running as it added a few metrics to the Garmin app that my watch doesn't do. It's a significantly better heart rate monitor than any smartwatch and super easy to connect to your watch and app. People don't even notice I'm wearing it, so it's pretty small. It seems to perform excellently.

Confiable data & impressive battery life
This Product has exceeded my expectations in delivering precise heart rate data for tailored workouts. The inclusion of running dynamics adds a new level of insight to my training sessions, significantly improving my overall performance. I appreciate the dual transmission capabilities via ANT+ and BLE, ensuring seamless connectivity with various devices like my Garmin watch and smartphone. The premium chest strap is not only comfortable but also adjustable, making it suitable for users of different sizes. With an impressive battery life, this heart rate monitor easily accommodates extended workouts and outdoor activities.

Very user friendly and comfortable
I use this HRM mostly for Jiu Jitsu and MMA training or any other workout where I can't wear my watch. Its comfortable enough and stays secure surprisingly well. While wearing a Gi it is basically unnoticeable by my training partners. In NoGi its a little more noticeable but does not interfere with rolling. It captures data reliably and is very easy to use. Just strap it on and go! I found it does help to start a workout on your watch first and then stop it when your finished. Everything will update automatically when your done and it keeps you from having to enter workout events manually after the fact. Overall a very solid purchase!

This is fantastic but... if you are a cyclist go for the cheaper version :)
I recently purchased the Garmin HRM Pro Plus, and I must say, the build quality and functionality are top-notch. The heart rate monitoring is precise, and it syncs seamlessly with my other Garmin devices. The comfort level is pretty impressive too, as I barely notice it while exercising. However, as an avid cyclist, I found that this device doesn't add significant value to my workout data. Most of the metrics it captures are already available through other devices and sensors that I use. For example, my cycle computer and power meter already provide ample information to analyze my performance in depth. The HRM Pro Plus didn't contribute much more in that regard. If you're into a variety of sports and fitness activities, this might be a great addition to your arsenal. But for cyclists already equipped with specialized sensors, the HRM Pro Plus might not be a necessary investment.Overall, it's a quality product that I would highly recommend for general fitness tracking. But if you're a cyclist looking for groundbreaking data insights, this might not be the product for you.

Amazing works like a charm!
I lost my old one, and got this as a replacement. This heart reate monitor works perfect, I do triathlon so I need to keep monitoring my bpm when running and biking. This is precise, easy to use, easy to change the batteries, what can I say! It’s a must have if you exercise on a regular basis and have a Garmin watch.

Works great with a Garmin watch, but NOT AT ALL without one!
I have a Garmin Forerunner 265 and this works perfectly with it. I especially like that I can start an activity like soccer or volleyball with my watch, then take off the watch and when I end the activity on my watch, it downloads all the data. The only issue is that if you forget your watch, say on the charger at home, there's no way to start an activity through the Garmin app, so all you'll get is step count and general heart rate information.

An essential tool for any runners
Most runners have a love/hate relationship with their chest-based heart rate sensor. It’s one more piece of gear to wear, and a strap can be uncomfortable if worn incorrectly. So why do we bother? Simple, no optical wrist-based heart rate monitor comes close to the consistent monitoring of a chest one. This is especially evident when doing short intervals and reps. The HRM-Pro Plus is a step up from Garmin’s previous straps. I’ve worn most of them over the decades, and this strap is the most comfortable yet. The battery replacement is much easier than in previous HRMs, requiring a tiny screwdriver and a finicky O-Ring to ensure waterproofing. The Pro clicks open easily and locks firmly. The standard 2032 battery lasts me about nine months. The Pro lets you run “naked,” as it can store data when you run without your watch and automatically send it to your device. This is useful if you do contact sports and want to leave your watch out of danger. I try to do at least one run a week without my watch to force myself to listen to my body for feedback rather than relief on my watch. Try it-it’s a great feeling. While many companies are dropping support for ANT+, the HRM Pro has ANT+ and Bluetooth. I still have some cycling computers that use ANT+, so I still need ANT+.The HRM-Pro also captures running dynamics. While I have running pals who swear by RD as a metric, I am only interested in cadence, which the strap captures and sends to Garmin Connect. One use of these metrics is running inside when you don’t have a GPS signal.Like previous straps, this one is waterproof and can be worn swimming. I prefer to use my HRM-Swim, as the wider strap works better in the water. If you are a woman, check out Garmin’s new HRM-FIT monitor, which simplifies wearing a sports bra with a strap-based monitor. I can’t speak from experience, but it is a great idea.I’ve tried running using the power metric but returned to heart rate-based training. It is easier to correlate my feelings with the heart rate numbers, and heart rate metrics are consistent across all platforms. Every company has its algorithms to define and measure power, and this is like comparing apples and oranges. Changing shoes and how you position a power meter can skew measurements, but a heartbeat is a heartbeat is a heartbeat. Power meters were a game changer for cyclists but were less useful for runners.Try this versatile strap if you’ve not tried training by heart rate. Make sure it fits correctly, and off you go.
