Odd headline I admit but you will understand why when you view this film. Having agreed to become tutor for 2 children in a out of the way country house a young woman new to the job finds she has a young boy and girl to look after who behave in a wild untamed way with a house keeper who seems unconcerned by their wild child antics Trying to educate them the tutor finds out is not going to be easy Her concerns are further increased when a man keeps appearing taking a close viewing interest of the children mostly the boy But when she describes the man it all turns to denial with the claim the man she saw is the gardener who was supposed to have died 2 years ago Turns out this alleged ghost plays a part in the tutors future with serious consequences Well worth watching as its another deep plot film by the master film maker Ivan Noel

An good,original film with excellent acting from the children in particular! An dark,errie story,not always clear what it is about always! Some very brief child nudity,but discrete,and appropriate to the story. Well worth watching! Different from any British/American drama.

Another of unique film maker Ivan Noel's unsettling, haunting, dark and brilliant films with convincing performances , especially the child actors playing the feral kids. I think Henry James would have approved of this latest version of his classic chiller Turn of the screw.

Arrived on time and in perfect condition

A strange and disturbing tale about strange and disturbed people! But Ivan Noel was certainly a very talented and original film maker (and musician) - it's just a shame that he wasted his talent on such dark and depressing subject matter. But I would say that his unique and uncompromising films are worth the time and money, this one included - as long as you're not offended by child nudity (not that much though). What a great shame (and loss) that he chose to end his life rather than fight unproven accusations of abuse.

This film needs to be seen more than once I reckon. There are subtle points that can be missed at first viewing however, a fantastic film I thought. Yes there are moments of cold nudity but it's very relevant to the story and isn't in any way gratuitous. Excellent film

Interesting film about a woman tutor looking after two kids in an isolated house. Shades of the Henry James story. Just wish Amazon would give decent plot descriptions for foreign films.

Ivan Noel is so good at getting the best performance from an unknown young cast. This is so well acted. This is another interpretation of The turn of the screw, but with a unique slant to it.

Another triumph by Ivan Noel! Right on target as usual. His movies are highly controversial, but socially accurate. He tells in his films the truth nobody wants to speak. For those who like polemical movies, this is it! I also recommend watching 'Rejected and Chaos'. We humans forget, that we are animals not gods. The use of reason is no excuse for feeling superior. Breath taking settings and footage of nature. Excellent psychological drama with an interesting twist in the end. Spoiler. This is not a non-stop action movie. It's not amusing entertainment, it's a film for critical thinking and openminded analysis. And a very good one, indeed!

Zwei im Einklang mit der Menschennatur lebende Kinder, die darum wohl als "unerzogen" zu bezeichnen wären, erhalten Besuch von einer Hauslehrerin, die zugleich Freundin sein will, die aber nicht ahnt, welche Herausforderung sie da angenommen hat... Mehr Worte möchte ich über die Handlung schon gar nicht verlieren; es würde die fast schon weihnachtliche Vorfreude auf das erste Mal mit dem nunmehr siebten "Noel Film" gewiss schmälern. Manch ein Zuschauer mag es ihm vielleicht negativ ankreiden: Iván Noel hängt an den Motiven seiner eigens erschaffenen Spielfilmformel ebenso wie an seinem schauspielerischen Lieblingspersonal (hier: Romina Pinto), so dass man seine Regiearbeiten fast schon als Serienproduktion bezeichnen könnte. Immer geht es dem Spanier um traumatisierte Kinder und um die Tragödien in deren Vergangenheit. Jedes Mal könnte man eine Doktorarbeit darüber schreiben, was mit den stets mit verliebter Kamera portraitierten jungen Seelen nicht stimmen könnte, um dann am Ende festzustellen, dass alles doch ganz anders ist. Im brandneu auf DVD erschienenen 2016er Thrillerdrama rechnet der gegen den Mainstream schwimmende Umdenker mit der Prüderie von Berufspädagogen ab und gewährt dem Tabuthema "gelebte Erotik unter Kindern" den bislang größten Spielraum seiner glorreichen Sieben. Iván Noel bildet in seinem Regiestuhl eine echte Ein-Mann-Partei, die man hierzulande AfH nennen könnte (Alternative für Hollywood). Inspiriert hat ihn diesmal die 1898 erschienene Geistergeschichte "Das Durchdrehen der Schraube" des amerikanisch-britischen Schriftstellers Henry James. Gerne hätte zum dritten Mal der kleine Lauro Veron aus "Limbo" und "Ellos Volvieron" die männliche Kinderrolle verkörpert, jedoch gemäß dem "The Tutor"-Alternativtitel "Verbrannte Knie" hat Noel einen anderen elfjährigen Hauptdarsteller, Valentino Vinco, ausgewählt, weil dessen Beine perfekt in die Optik passen. Daran dass das Schniepelchen nicht groß genug anmutet, um zu all der im Film angedeuteten Begierde zu passen, wird sich wohl niemand stören. Der diesmal abgelehnte Lauro Veron bekam übrigens zum Trost statt der Hauptrolle einen Job als Noels Produktionsassistent, und ist damit vielleicht der jüngste Mitarbeiter hinter der Kamera, den es je in einem Spielfilm gegeben hat? Es wurde für "The Tutor" die Filmmusik nicht wie sonst von Iván Noel selbst komponiert und es gibt keine Tonspur mit seinem Regiekommentar, dafür aber einen 20-minütigen Einblick in die Stimmungen beim Dreh. Von den sieben mehr oder weniger exquisiten Noel-Dramen würde ich dieses auf Rang 4 sehen. Zu guter Letzt aber noch ein kritisches Wort zur DVD: Ich stoße mich daran, dass sich während der 109 Minuten Laufzeit wieder auffallend oft Flüchtigkeitsfehler in die Untertitel eingeschlichen haben. Wenn man bei den "Noel Films" schon nicht Deutsch hören darf, möchte ich wenigstens makelloses Deutsch lesen können.
