I love that the gates roll away to basically nothing when not in use. They are used for our pets so definitely have to keep on lock mode so the screen stays tight.

The instructions were inadequate and confusing, but this gate is so easy to use, and very sturdy! Just easily turn a dial to lock/unlock. We are very pleased now that it’s in!

My neice and nephew were able to install easily they have very steep stairs used for top and bottom and a third To block kitchen from 1 and two year old girls. Works well so far

It was great until my dog ripped it out of the wall lol

Small dog went right under it. Returned it for a hard model.

Drilled holes for anchor in my walls, and my 17 month old crawled under this quite literally in less than 5 seconds. Not at all effective. Returned and had to fill holes in my wall.

I installed this at the bottom of the stairs in our 2 story house and it works really well for this application. You definitely can't use this type of gate at the top of the stairs if you're using this for babies though. Even when the gate is "locked" there is still a little bit of play in the mesh. Getting the J-clips installed properly so that the top and bottom of the gate are in equal tension is a little tricky. I found that the top of my gate always seemed to have a little more tension too it than the bottom so I mounted the bottom J-clip further away to increase the tension to match the top. I love how easy it is to dismount the gate spindle from the wall when you don't need it in place. Also, in case anyone is curious, you can mount this gate with the retractable reel on the right and the J-clips on the left. None of the product photos or instructions so this installation configuration but I did this to better conceal the J-clips in my walkway and it still works fine.
