The Girl Who Would Be Free: A Fable About Epictetus

Thank you Ryan for writing a book with a great moral message and illustrated beautifully. And I want to say I deeply appreciate you giving Epictetus a gender swap. I love Stoicism and have grown so much since meditating on its teachings, but it's been a bit of sad feeling that I didn't see myself represented in its teachings. I know all the reasons for that and it makes me shrug. But there's a little girl in me that stands up a bit taller seeing herself in the pictures of a book and I appreciate you drawing attention to the fact that the gender of the teacher doesn't matter-only the wisdom of the words. A heads up-I did purchase this directly from the seller-I couldn't resist a signed copy!

I know we live in era of forced "inclusiveness" but changing the gender of an historical figure seems a bit too much. Why confuse readers, especially children, in such a way?
