It is a high gain distortion pedal, though it does better and sounds more like a modern metal tone with a overdrive pushing the signal. It's a solid distortion pedal overall, good tone shaping, and will definitely drive your mids to a puncher, more bitey sound. Without overdrive it's definitely a late 80s, early 90s metal tone. I dig it especially for the price. You're not going to get the tone, the drive, or the versatility of a higher end pedal, like Blackstar's Dual Distortion, but it's definitely worth the price.

Pretty decent high gain distortion. Very crisp. 80’s-90’s metal tone. Tone knob is not as responsive as I’d like but it does help dial in your tone for the most part. Very sturdy pedal and the pots have nice tension. I’ll keep it in my chain.
