Long Plastic Rectangular Handy Baskets/Mop Buckets (Noncollapsible Buckets 03 - Ivory)

When I replaced my very old washing machine and dryer set, I purchased a GE washer/dryer unit with a pedestal. What I didn't realize at the time, was that it needs to be drained periodically to clean out the bottom lint filter. I tried an assortment of Tupperware type containers that were either too big, too small, too wide (and stuck out into walkway) and awkward to handle. This little narrow bucket is just right. It is narrow enough, that it doesn't take up walkway room, it fits perfectly under the drain spout, and it is deep enough, I don't necessarily need to dump it every time I drain the washer. The handle is plenty strong enough to hold even if the bucket is full of liquid. Although it is collapsable, it is plenty sturdy enough to use. If it gets really dirty, I usually just rinse it out, but if that isn't enough, a light scrub with Dawn easily cleans it. It was a good value for the money, and I would purchase again.

I was happy to find a smaller bucket for cleaning my compact NYC apartment. While this one is small, it's still shaped presuming that you dip a T-shaped mop into it, which is why it is so long. Because of this length to width ratio (plus a small height) it is extremely unbalanced when you grab it by the handles. I've had a major spill 90% of the times I used it. Eventually I learned to be very cautious around it, like during driving: don't fall asleep, don't text and don't daydream. Just focus on successfully carrying this thing to the next corner. I try not to put it on hardwood floor - only the linoleum in the kitchen and the tiles in the bathroom. This way it works OK, and I still like the size. A shorter length would be great for those of use who skip the mop and use old T-shirts to wash the floor. Not sure if these people exist in America, but I can say with all certainty that there's at least one.

Just tried it today. I was thinking that the other reviews that talked about spilling when lifting might be exaggerations. I set the bucket on my kitchen counter, tried lifting it a few times with the handles together and apart, and all seemed just fine. But then I added water. Aha! Filled it only about a third up, then was going to lift it up to set it on the floor and , of course, tidal waves back and forth! Seems almost impossible to carry this thing with the handles and not spill! If there's a trick to this, I'd love to know it! That said, I needed a small rectangular bucket for my sponge-mop, and not a huge selection of those, so this does do the trick. Just going to be an issue of having to pick this thing up by the edges with both hands to move it at all. Too bad. Otherwise a decent bucket. Just needs a serious redesign.

Our hot tub filter fits in this bucket just right! We are able to soak the filter without having to fill an entire 5 gallon bucket like we had been doing. Very nice to have the handle too!

This bucket is exactly the perfect size and the handles help even out carrying it when full. It fits my washer because it doesn’t have sides that slant in. I am so happy I chose this one!

It's hard to get a mop bucket that fits the common kitchen mop. This one's rectangular design does, so that is good. It's a little shallow, but it appears sturdy enough. The fatal flaw, however, is the handle design. The first time I picked it up, water began sloshing back and forth like a pendulum and quickly spilled its walls and all over my counter and floor. I cleaned it up, and now, having learned my lesson (I thought), I carefully tried to pick it up again . . . and I did it again! It spilled less because I was ready, but still, it is very hard to avoid this pendulum swing effect. I have resorted to grabbing the sides when moving the bucket and ignoring the handles. This is absurd, and could have been avoided if the handles had simply been attached further out from the middle. Perhaps one star is harsh as it does otherwise work, but for me this design flaw is egregious enough to warrant the low rating as moving the bucket, a frequent occurrence when mopping, becomes a major hazard each and every time for this too-shallow bucket. I only saw one other reviewer mention this issue so take that into consideration I guess? But I cannot see how others haven't had this problem as well, but who knows.
