Q: Is this tap suitable for a waterbut

I don't think so as its brass , but does depend on required thread size and what it's fit too. Brilliant outside tap .

Q: Do you sell or can you advise which adaptor is required to fit a hose system as the nose is clearly longer on this tap?

The nose of the tap can be removed by unscrewing it. You can then fit a threaded hose adaptor,which is already fitted to the hose to the tap. The adaptors are readily available from any good garden centre of hardware store.

Q: What size hoselock fits this? I had a half inch one but appears to be too small.

The end of the tap has a standard threaded connection which unscrews and can be replaced by a standard hoselock and you can then use either half inch or three quarter hoselock snap on connectors

The hose you are using is only used usually for heavy duty use. The normal hose size is half inch hose for general garden use.
