CleanWell Botanical Disinfecting Wipes, Lemon, 35 count (1 PK)

These are my household's favorite cleaning item - they work very well, use all natural ingredients, and they are much safer than other alternatives to use around kids and pets. The ingredients are clearly listed -ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Thymol0.05%OTHER INGREDIENTS:99.95%Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate (bluestone), CleanWell® Essential Oil Fragrance Blend.TOTAL:100.00%- so I am not sure why some reviewers seemed to have a hard time believing that these are a natural cleaning product. Every single ingredient on the list has a great safety record and a long history of use. For people who do not like the smell, "Thymol" is simply the essential oil from the thyme plant, the same kind of thyme you would use to flavor food as an herb. It's nontoxic to people and pets, but it does have a strong smell - I think of it like a very strong "herbal" scent. It dissipates quickly, and doesn't cause the harsh reaction in people with asthma that bleach or ammonia based cleaners do. The reasons why I keep restocking these for my household:1) No rinsing. A lot of the "big brand" wipes do list rinsing as a required step. Not so with these wipes - just disinfect and go.2) EPA approved as a disinfectant against viruses, including the "big one" circulating right now but also against cold, flu, and other nasty germs.3) No fumes - the smell (from thymol) doesn't cause breathing issues. Interestingly enough, thymol is also the disinfectant ingredient used in Listerine original brand mouthwash, along with other essential plant oils. If you're familiar with the smell of classic Listerine, you have an idea of what this smells like.Overall I feel confidant using this around children and pets - and in food prep areas - in ways that I definitely don't feel comfortable using harsh chemicals. Thymol is also scientifically proven to kill germs, unlike many other "natural" cleaners. If you're looking for a cleaner that will make your house smell like synthetic roses or fresh linen or whatever, this isn't it; but if you're looking for a safe, clean, effective cleaning wipe you have found one.

Before buying these I did look up the disinfecting nature of thymol or thyme oil. It appears that there is something to this. It is the active ingredient in a well known botanical cleaner brand. I do like the idea of using these in the kitchen and not needing to rinse, but they are a bit pricey. I use a lot of wipes around the house so I ordered lysol rather than more of these. I may just not be ready to trust these yet if I get chicken juice on the counter, and they are a little more than I want to pay for something I'm not sure I fully trust yet. But that is a problem with me, not the wipes. If you're confident in their disinfecting claims then they do seem to be around the same price point as other well known botanical cleaners. The wipes themselves were soft, and made it easy to wipe everything down.

The scent is pleasant and mild and doesn’t irritate my skin. It’s also not too wet but has enough moisture to clean so I can let it evaporate or wipe it dry. I am waiting for CleanWell to make more of their Foaming Hand Sanitizer to get back in stock.

Happy to have a product that safely disinfects without chemicals! Don't know why people complain about the scent; to me it totally smells lemon-y, mixed with a little bit of the thyme smell. The scent is very clean and fresh! It does not linger, either - so even if you didn't like it, it dissipates rather quickly (in as little as 10 mins in most cases). One amazing thing about these wipes that I have found, in my experience, is that they REALLY cut through sticky messes on counter and stove tops! I barely have to put in any effort and the sticky mess seems to "dissolve" or break down in front of my eyes, and wipes away so easily! I love using these in the kitchen, they make for a quick clean-up!

The wipes were just ok! I think the smell was just too much for me. It did not have that lemon smell but more like some unknown chemical smell, very strong. The wipes are thin so I had to use 2 at a time. Left a soapy residue on the top of my stove. I might have to pass on these next time.

As much as I like Seventh Gen wipes, they smell weird. So I tried these hoping they wouldn't smell so strange. Surely enough, they don't. More lemony as described. I haven't had any problems with the container, it's the same design most use, the trick is to pull the sheets out from the inside middle and not the outside of the roll, then pull the sheet through the little holder tab on top and viola.

I like using natural cleaning products, and this one has a good scent and works well and the wipes are convenient. It doesn't leave residue behind which is nice.
