Excellent Form, Function and Appearance for the Cost
Ok, there is a lot to unpack when it comes to some of the negative things that others have had to say in regards to these tiles. The one thing that most people do not seem to understand is that tiles like this ARE NOT SOUND BLOCKING! They are meant only to absorb echoes in an environment. In my case, these were installed with the idea of toning down the room a bit. I run a couple of industrial lasers that require supporting equipment like a water chiller, air compressor and more than one fume extraction fans. All combined add up quickly decibel wise and the tiles do an excellent job of quieting the environment just by removing the echoes so I only hear the original source of the noise and not it bouncing off everything else and hitting my ears milliseconds later. These tiles are not a “Silver Bullet”, but they are darn close. I have tried other sound dampening tiles and found them to be inferior in performance and a pain in the *ss to install with the sub-par adhesive squares that come with them, and just plain look like crap (I have a whole contractor’s garbage bag full of them now because they are that bad). The foam on these was a bit odoriferous at first, but dissipated quickly. Expansion of the tiles after removing them from the vacuum packs was almost instantaneous and were usable within 3-5 minutes and the density is far superior to other tiles I have tried. For installing these, I DID NOT use adhesive or tape. Since they were going over drywall the most secure way that I found to mount them was using a pair of Lineman’s pliers to push in 1” long round top blued nails (5 per tile). They are invisible once seated unless you look for them and they do not compress the foam and distort, thus degrade the function of, the tiles like staples from a staple gun will. Using the nails also made it exceedingly easy to remove the tiles for repositioning when needed due to installer error ;-)For my first installation, I covered the ceiling of the area where my machinery that makes the most noise resides. The floor was then covered with ¾” thick rubber stall mats which are also great for deadening noise reflections (echoes). Some have commented that my current 12’ X 11’ area is creepy in the fact that once they enter it, the normal echoes that we are all used to hearing almost disappear (this can cause discomfort/disorientation for some since they are something the brain uses for spatial cues).Would I buy these again, absolutely! Actually I already did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive so I can start installing them in the rest of the Shop ;-)Yes, I did get some dud tiles (mashed due to the manufacturing process, packing, whatever) as others mentioned, I just set these aside and used them when partial tiles were called for. In the end, it worked out just fine and the loss due to defective tiles was minimal at best (no tiles were a total loss).Just the tiles on the ceiling alone made an immediate difference, when coupled with the flooring the effect was far beyond my expectations! I cannot wait to tile the other two thirds of the ceilings when the rest of the tiles I ordered arrive.

Great For The Price
Perfect. Need something to dampen the noise in a quiet room and bedroom. These worked perfectly. Get some tiny finishing nails or spray adhesive for them. Covered a wall and a sound blanket for the door and the rooms were complete.

Read This Review Before Buying
Here’s what you need to know!1. This will not make your room “soundproof.”2. These panels reduce acoustic reflection and tune a rooms acoustics to reduce high and some mid frequency reflection and make a live room more neutral.3. They are compressed and some panels need time to reshape. The easiest way to get those flattened pieces to bounce back is to soak them in warm water, wring out and set aside to dry.4. Give all the panels a 48 hr air out period to reduce the smell of the chemicals they use on these. It smells like paint and it’s harsh. The smell dissipates a lot after 24 hrs and gets much better as they have a chance to breathe.5. Mount panels onto backing board with double sided tape, lastly fixing the backing board to the wall with command strips or similar product. Glues and adhesives will not last long term, are very messy and smelly, and you will damage your walls.6. They will work for what they were designed for if you follow steps 1-5, and you’ll be happy with the results especially for the price.

Good for what they are/cost
These worked for soundproofing in a garage. They are VERY highly compressed for shipping, though, and not all the pyramid shapes fully expand (maybe 1-2 per pack). I found that placing them out in the sun/air for about an hour plumps them up nice and evenly. If you get flat points, try this trick.

Not for soundproof
not high density, poor quality and not for soundproof. I tried in my media room and it just doesn’t work at all.

Ehh
They’re okay if You’re desperate for some sounds being drained but they don’t stick to adhesive

Good quality
~I have purchased a ton of these types of foam paneling over the years due to living space changes etc.-I’ve come to expect a portion to be duds or slightly off in one way or another. But to my surprise (maybe I was lucky) out of the 36 only 3 were unusable pancakes that never fluffed out.**That’s a pretty good ratio considering others I’ve bought.**-I let them sit in a room for about a day to fully form, but if I’m being honest most were ready to use after a few hours, no water needed like some types.-smell? Yeah, almost all foam like this reeks of some chemical type smell and, if I had to guess, it is probably bad to breathe in because that smell always makes me dizzy if there isn’t proper airflow in the room.Open a window. Put an air purifier in the room to help. Over time the smell will dissipate.-Once they are up on the wall I’ll include photos.

Pleasing to the eye !👁️🌈
I am very curious and hopeful that this product May drowned out some noise, in the area in which I am installing them. But I must say the pattern of the texture and their overall form and shape make them "really cool looking!!..very aesthetically pleasing". 👀👌👍
