Battlefield Vietnam [PC Game]

Game is great.

I love the original version of this game! My brother bought it when it first came out and it's a blast to play. I ordered this "redux" edition to install on my laptop before I left for college, having lost the original installation discs for our first copy. Unfortunately I was not aware that "redux" meant "worse." They have changed many of the features of the original version. The M60/LAW class is no longer available and the M60 that is available paired with the M79 grenade launcher now has a horrible recoil that makes it impossible to use effectively without going prone. Another annoying change is that while reloading if you take any hits you have to start the reload all over again. This is not incredibly realistic, which I presume was the intention, and it is very annoying. The graphics remain unchanged and the gameplay itself is still slightly jumpy. The original game had several flaws, most noticeably the poor AI programming that makes them occasionally unresponsive. This version fixed none of these problems, focusing on ones that did not really exist. Overall though, this is a very fun historic game and well worth the price. However, I would suggest trying to find an original copy as opposed to this "redux" edition. I miss my old M60...

Play it all the time I have had it for years. It is very good and very easy, You can be a soldier a pilot or a tank driver or even a helicopter excellent

I relly enjoy Vietnam era games. This one is fairly accurate and very enjoyable as you go through and play both sides.

I have been a big fan of the Battlefield 1942 games since they first came out. I still play online to this day. I picked this title up a couple years ago just to play on servers that used Vietnam maps. What I like most about the BF series was the simple, but very intuitive UI. The revamped UI for this game in my opinion is a huge step back. It is overly complicated without adding real game functionality. If I want a really complicated UI, I'll play Modern Warfare. And all the public servers that used to have these maps are long gone.

I was sent Battlefield Vietnam, not BFV Redux. Not just that, I tried to install the game and it wont install due to the discs not coming with a cd hashkey. I got 4 shiney, ugly coasters. Hardly worth paying to return the garbage, I'll just go buy it at a local game shop and forget Amazon ordering I suppose. I'm glad my Prime membership is almost up :)

This game is great, the only bad part, no iron sights, but still, great gameplay, it is great, i recomend it to any battlefield fans.

I used to play this game all the time back in the day.. And picked it up agian.. still fun however my Ps3 is better.
