FRYE Women's Harness 15R Boot

First off, love these bad boys! That being said, when they arrived the shaft was way too narrow for my thick calves! However, I have wanted these too badly to be deterred! My local Cavenders stretched the shaft for me after my failed attempts lol! Now they are perfect and I've invested in a metal boot shaft stretcher (didn't know they existed before I bought these boots). The quality is fantastic, they are super comfy and oh so stylish! Worth the stretching hassel lol!

Like some others here, I waited a long time to give myself permission to buy these boots. Waited so long that now I have bunions and fallen arches and other lovely side effects of age. These boots, though. Damn!! They took a minute to get totally fitted to my funky feet, but now they are and they are just SO comfortable. I want to wear them every day all year long.Do yourself a favor and indulge yourself. Don't wait. Don't buy all manner of things for others, but put off buying yourself something that you are going to absolutely love.

This boot is gorgeous! I've wanted a pair of black Frye harness boots for years but couldn't justify the price. When I saw these on sale for almost 50% off price, I couldn't resist - Happy Birthday to me! I ordered the charcoal, which is more of a dark gray than black. I didn't love the dark gray at first because my mind was set on black but now I can't stop admiring the color, cut, and general coolness of these boots. The 6.5 fits well, not too snug or too loose in the foot bed. I have a narrow foot, so this boot feels comfortable to me. However, the shaft is rather snug with only leggings, tights, and slim cut jeans fitting inside the boot. I can't imagine trying to tuck jeans into these boots. I'm not a big fan of thick socks with boots (other than winter boots) and wear cotton crew socks - still enough room to wiggle toes. The boots look killer with a dress and tights/leggings. If you have a wide foot or a muscular calf, you might want to stay away from this make and explore another option. Some of the reviews I read recommended to order a half size down; I ordered my regular size 6.5; I wouldn't be able to wear a half size smaller in the toes or calf, so if you are looking to buy these boots, be sure to read all of the reviews - everyone is different. These boots were out of the box wearable and I expect they will become more comfortable as time passes. One thing I did notice was that there is a lot of room around the ankles. After wearing them, I insert a cowboy boot shaper that I had in my closet to keep the shaft straight so it doesn't wrinkle up and rub the ankles. I hope these boots live up to the Frye reputation.

Gorgeous boots! This was my first pair of Frye boots. I have been searching for a good quality square toe boot that was versatile for a long time! These fit the bill perfectly. Too bad they didn't fit me that well. I am barely 5ft tall, and the shaft of the boot was just too tall and a bit snug on my calves. Since it was so tall & snug, the ankle was then bunched causing an odd bulky look. I am sending them back and am going to try the Harness 12R. I sure hope they are as beautiful and that they are not too short. It really made me sad that these boots didn't work for me. Otherwise, they truly are top quality boots, beautiful, and wonderful leather smell. I would recommend these too anyone taller than me! :( (I ordered the Dark Brown size 7- I normally wear a 7 and sometimes a 6 1/2. I think if the height would've worked for me, that a 6 1/2 would have also worked better.)

So I never write reviews on here but after reading all the reviews I thought it might be helpful for people on the fence about ordering these. I own many pairs of Frye’s and I love them. I find them true to size usually. with the harness if you like to wear a thicker sock I would probably go a half size up. Nothing more. I have harnesses in 5.5 and 6 and honestly they both fit great depending on my sock thickness. This product was perfect. I’m so stoked, especially since I got such a discount on these!! I love them!!

I ordered two Harness 15R, size 6 in the dark brown pebbled and 6.5 in charcoal. They fit essentially the same in length, but the 6.5 was slightly more generous across the width of the ball. For comparison, I wear a 6.5 in most shoes. I kept the 6.5 charcoal purely because I preferred the color and look of the slightly distressed leather. Over the weeks the sole has become more flexible as the boots softened up, although there still remains a little heel slip. They are a bit heavy, but very supportive and comfortable for all day wear. I'm 5'2" and the boot shaft ends 2 inches below my knee.

Love, Love, Love these boots! I know that some might be a little wary to purchase a pair of Frye boots because of the price, but in my experience, they are worth every penny. These are my 3rd pair of Frye's and my favorite..for now. They are thick and stand up on their own I appreciate the fact that they do not collapse around the ankle like other tall boots tend to do. They are rather comfy after breaking them in, I think it took about 3 days of wearing them for that to happen. They are not for people with wide calves although they do stretch a little when work with layers tucked into them. As will all Frye boots, order a 1/2 size down from your normal shoe size. If they feel a little snug at first just wear them with thick socks for a day and they will fit like a glove.

These are beautiful boots. I ordered a 9, which is my size and they were HUGE. I couldn't believe it. They looked like size 11s. I double checked the boot and they were certainly marked as size 9. There were two inches of space at the toe when I tried them on and they slipped off my heal. Far too big for me. I returned them. They seemed very stiff and would need breaking in and some thick socks. Not a bad thing, just be prepared perhaps. In my case, the boots ran surprisingly large but other comments were that they fit to size. I wonder if there is something wrong with the manufacturer? I did return them very easily and received a refund immediately. Thank you amazon.

Ordered the black 15R: Love these boots wanted a pair for a long time got them at a great price, I ordered the 8 1/2 and I was swimming in them so I sent them back and ordered the 8 still too big for my foot and I was worried that once the leather stretches they would be too big. I am normally an 8 1/2 or an 8 depending on the manufacturer, but I ended up ordering the 7 1/2 and they fit perfect. I don't think I have ever fit into a 7 1/2 my feet are slim and obviously Frye makes the boot a bit more roomy which is fine with me. I ordered the boot and came quickly it was not even a week and they were delivered to my door. I love leather made shoes and boots and I know these boots will last me a long time. Have not wore them out yet but I am sure I will get a few compliments on them, now I just have to save my pennies to order the tan harness boot in the 15R. I have the campus brown boot also and very nice boot as well.Betty
