Great value, somewhat inconsistent switch
******Update 8-20-17*****The manufacturer reached out to me as a result of this review and was kind enough to very quickly offer me an exchange. The replacement light has a switch that works consistently every time. I must has activated it over 100 times without a problem. This was really more then I expected. Rating changed to a deserving 5 stars and I order two more, thanks Ozark!I was looking for a light for my backup home defense pistol, a Sig Sauer SP2022. My primary, a Glock 22, already has a Streamlight laser/light combo but I really couldn't justify spending another $130. So I checked Amazon and this, puppy was in my price range.First the pros. It's very sturdy and has great build quality. After firing about 100 rounds, the light was still very firmly attached. No wobble or creak anywhere. #2 It's very bright, blindingly so in a dark room. In the photos It's the light on the top and even with a camera flash, u can see its easily brighter then the Streamlight. #3 It uses a common battery. I have a few mini flashlights that use the same size cell. #4 Value. It's nearly a quarter of the cost of the streamlight (the Ozark doesn't have a laser but nor was I looking for or expecting one at this price). The only con, and I think it's somewhat serious, is the functionality of the switch. When first picking up the firearm an hour after installation, I pulled the switch twice before the lamp came on. Mmm, that's odd. Ok, went and did a few things, came back to it maybe 4 hrs later. This time it took three pulls for the light to come on. The switch makes an audible click every time you pull it so sneaking up on a burglar stealthily, may be difficult. Thinking it might be the battery, I replaced it with a new one. Waited an hour and pulled the switch again. Again, nothing on the first pull but lit on the second. Just something to be aware of....Still, I will keep it, just keep in mind to pull the switch twice when talking it out of the vault.

Was very suprised how solid it was for the price!
You get a lot of quality light here for just $35. A solid Aluminum body with crisp lines and a hard wearing finish, it locks up tight to the rail of my 1911, and deff looks at home on it. It is very bright. For the price point, it's an amazing amout of light that you get. On the downside, and there is only one, the switch falls short on several fronts. While it does work and feels as solid as the rest of the light, it protrudes somewhat awkwardly out of the left side and is not readily accessible to a right handed trigger finger. The on/off portion makes a loud double click sound, about as loud as flicking open a zippo lighter, however once on, cycling thru constant-on and strobe require only a little movement. There is no momentary-on feature, but you can juggle the switch with you support hand and get a similar effect. Lastly, the switch lever, which sticks out about 5-6mm, has no real protection from getting bent or snagged on something (it's even kind of hook shaped), the Tightening Nut sits about a centimeter ahead of it and will keep most issues a bay, but there is always the possibility. With that said, I would still buy a few more for myself. Practice will probably mitigate the switch issues.

Awesome little weapon light witha few minor cons.
I purchased this light for my bedside defender after countless searching through reviews and options. While surprisingly affordable, this weapon light has a bunch of great features and a few less desirable.Pros:- Perfect size and shape for a "full size" sidearm.- Full aluminum body with a powder coated matte black finish.- Easy reach switch for the support hand with a positive "click".- Very bright unidirectional beam at 500 lumen.- Super affordable while still being well built and constructed.- Very firm mounting when fully tightened; She ain't goin' nowhere.Cons:- Mounting system involves a bulky 'knob' that ruins the sleek profile.- Light switch is small and feels a little loose, might be hard to find for large hands.- Beam doesn't twist to focus, you're limited to a single light spread option.- Takes an odd battery that might be less easy to find than standard AA or AAA.- Takes practice to intentionally get 'strobe' or 'stream'.Ultimately, I'm very happy with this little guy and with some practice, it'll feel right at home. This doesn't replace a Streamlight or Surefire and I wouldn't advise trusting your life to this product but it's an excellent alternative for someone who needs a budget option for a bump-in-the-night.

Durable, compact, high output light for the value!
Very good value for the price. Construction seems rigid and durable, light puts out brightness as advertised (500+ lumen), very easy to install on rail system. Profile is slim and fits neary flush with the width of the slide and depth of the trigger guard of a Glock 19. The bulb housing extends from the end of the barrel about 3/4"; comparible to most pistol lights on the market, i.e. streamlight & surefire. Toggle is easy to operate, left side of light only.Cons; tightening screw protrudes a little more than would be desired, but does not effect holstering with a Safariland ALS system. Light has to cycle through on and strobe before turning off.Overall, fantastic value at less then $40 for the output and compact size. Would highly recommend for a backup weapon system or if you're just looking to keep the budget low.Follow up:I replaced the rail attachment screw with a smaller one; metric M4 with a rounded Allen head. The lower profile is more comfortable and gives a cleaner entry for holstering. The hardware cost 47¢. See the pictures for reference.
