Great, versatile boots that look subtle
I already have ankle high Keens I use for bigger hikes, but I wanted a pair of boots that looked more subtle that I could use for walks around the neighborhood and around the house that wouldn't look so much like boots. These fit the bill, and I was actually surprised how comfortable they are. They actually ended up being more comfortable than my much more expensive Keens, and I may buy another pair at some point. I feel that they fit true to size and they're actually more comfortable than Moabs. They breathe well enough considering the materials, as well. The waterproofness is OK.

Dress Casual Hikers? A Perfect Combination
Merrell products make up about 99% of my footwear selection and I was looking for dress casual shoes to wear to church in the winter when it snows so I decided to try these. It's not yet winter but I'm already extremely pleased with my decision to get these. They are the perfect balance between a leather dress casual shoe and a low top hikers. They look great, have amazing grip on wet pavement, and have a great footbed. I absolutely love and recommend these!

HIGHLY SUGGESTED!!
My purchase was in September of 2022. These shoes are worn daily and used as a hiking / work shoe receiving fair abuse. The Vibram soles wear like iron, still having a good amount of tread on them. The leather uppers have held up extremely well. They are still comfortable and provide good breathability. My only complaint are two small incidentals. As with most shoes, these laces suck! I'd advise talking to your local shoe repair shop and ask what laces will remain tied. These are not a hiking lace. The other small incidental is the toe piece that comes unglued, making the shoes look cheap. My wife thought they were worn out!As far as buying another pair... absolutely. I will be purchasing a new pair soon.

Instant hit!
Husband got these for our trips camping and other outdoor activities, in black. He has always been a solid size 10, and they fit perfectly. He has a little bit of a high arch, and likes the support on the inside. The shoe is surprisingly light at well, just what he was hoping for. He is wearing them every day to "break them in" but there has been literally no break in period, they were perfect right out of the box. He wanted something to hike in, but not a boot, and good for the only pair to take on our travels. It is a 10 out of 10, and the price for the black pair on Amazon was WAY cheaper than in brick and mortar stores or other colors online.

Fine for casual wear
Had these shoes for 8 months. Walk about 8 miles 5 days a week and by the end of the eight months the inserts failed before the soles had worn down.

Merrell makes great shoes and these are no exception. Super comfy and lightweight.
Ordered the same size as my older shoes and these fit perfectly. Very very comfortably for daily all-day use.Didn't realize when ordered that they are pretty much all leather except for the bottom so that's cool. Hope they last as long as Merrells others shoes.Would have liked the bottom stripe to be dark brown instead of the gray which would match my work clothing better but they are still great shoes and will big again in the future.

Bought in February, dead by May
At first when I got these infractions thought they were great. Then I put them on and tightened my laces for the first time and the leather eyelet ripped out. Wow!I work in hay delivery and feed sales, so I'm on my feet with lots of weight on my feet in addition to my bodyweight. Here's what I noticed:Pros:water proofStable and comfortable solesCasual look without being clunkyGood priceCons: (warning, there's a lot)Poor quality: toes, eyelets, laces, foam trimmings, all ripped within 4 months. They're not longer waterproof due to the holes, my toes stick out of the front (my manager comments on my socks colors)Laces broke 3 or 4 times before I replaced themSizing is weird, not having half sizes past 12 is terrible. Bought 1 size too big and it fit okRubber sole is already worn down to slickTop rise is too low so it sits much further below the heel than other sneaker type shoes. Very weird for a bootNo stitching on sole to body of boot, this was the first part to really deteriorate.Very thin leather, no toe cap, no arch support, ugh.Buy these to wear once a weekend, they'll do fine hiking 4 times a month.Do not buy as your daily boot, I am currently only wearing them because I don't make enough money to buy new ones while I wait for my boots from south Africa to finally arrive (shoutout tim green!).
