Not So “Mini” – Perfect Rice Every Time!
We bought this thinking it would be tiny, but it’s actually the perfect size for a household of two, more than enough for everyday meals. We mainly use it to cook Japanese short grain rice, and honestly, the result is amazing. The texture and flavour took us right back to Japan. The fuzzy logic settings work beautifully, and the rice comes out perfectly cooked every single time, no guesswork. It’s simple to use, the LED display is clear, and the ceramic bowl feels like real quality. One thing to note: the first time we used it, there was a faint plasticky smell (even though we washed the pot before cooking). I’m guessing it’s just the newness of the appliance, because it hasn’t come back since.Overall, this is a fantastic little rice cooker that delivers premium results without the price tag of a top-tier Japanese brand. Highly recommend!

Panda mini rice cooker
I’m so glad I eventually bought this which was after much deliberation as it’s quite expensive.. I think that I’ve used it every day since I got it. So easy to use. Makes perfect rice and keeps it warm automatically! ! I’ve tried it for basmati, jasmine, long grain and brown rice so far.All were great. It also comes with a steamer which will be useful although not tried it yet. Looks cute and convenient slot for the spatula on the side.. Easy to clean. One cup of rice feeds two generously. So it’s max quantity of 3.5 cups would feed around 7 people.

Cannot fault this at all
I absolutely love my rice cooker. It cooks just the right amount of rice for me and could make enough for three or so people if you needed. It can also make porridge, slow cook and cook different kinds of rice perfectly. I love that it has a timer function. I can put some rice or porridge oats in at night and wake up to cooked food in the morning. It can also steam excellently. It’s small and light. It doesn’t take up much space on my countertop.I bought this to replace a huge family-sized one which was nowhere near as clever as this one with all its different functions. This one works so much better for small portions as the old one would burn smaller (one person) portions.

First Class Rice Cooker update
The Yum Asia Panda mini is truly a superb piece of kit. The build quality is of the highest order, it has a small footprint and the fuzzy logic feature ensures that your rice is always cooked to your preference every time. The menu is simple to navigate and covers a number of different types of rice together with porridge, cakes, steaming facility and time delay should you wish to cook rice later. I bought the mini because I only cook for two or three at home. It is important to say that the cup size as advertised is the included cup which is 160ml. NOT a standard cup size of 250ml. Having said that you can produce a max of over 1.2 kilo of cooked rice at a time which for us is more than enough. It is simple to clean and, although expensive, is voted number one in 'Which' magazine. There is an excellent cook book that is written for the Panda available on Amazon or the Yum Asia web site which, unfortunately, has to be purchased separately. All in all a great product and I would heartily recommend.

Reliable and Easy-to-Use Rice Cooker with Effortless Cleanup
This makes cooking rice so easy to do. This rice cooker consistently delivers perfectly cooked rice, taking all the guesswork out of the process compared to traditional stovetop methods. It is also relatively cheap, so I don’t understand the point of spending a lot more money on one when the result will only be fractionally better. The interface is straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy to operate right out of the box. While the instruction manual could be clearer when it comes to measuring water and rice ratios, a quick online search easily resolves any confusion. Cleanup is also very easy with detachable parts that make disassembly simple, and the non-stick inner pot prevents any rice from sticking, making washing up quick and effortless.

Great asset to my kitchen
After a recent trip to Japan I had been looking at getting a rice cooker. After looking at many other brands I decided to go with Yum Asia. As there are only two of us I chose the panda after reading the many positive reviews. I’m so glad that I did as my first go was a complete success. We used a rice recommended by a local Asian shop and it cooked perfectly in the panda. A good amount and soft and sticky just as we like it. Panda was easy to clean after use. Definately recommend this cute machine for authentic rice.

Perfect rice. Wish I had bought sooner.
I've thought about buying a rice cooker for ages so finally decided to give it a go. After a few uses this is definitely a case of wish I had bought one sooner. We eat rice quite a lot. I used to do via the pan method on the hob and then moved to using a multi function pressure cooker and then back to the pan method but now I've tried this Yum Asia rice cooker, it's way better and much more convenient also. I've tried Jasmine and standard supermarket long grain and both came out perfectly. Somehow it's just not possible in my opinion to get the same result cooking in a pan or with a pressure cooker. The measurement process makes it very simple. One cup of rice, add water to level 1 on the bowl. Separate guidance for brown rice or short grain. Pop it in, close the lid, select the desired option on the control panel (eg long grain) and wait for it to complete. It pings when done and then keeps the rice warm. I was worried it would take a long time but was pleasantly surprised. I think it was around 35 mins for one measuring cup of rice, enough for 2 people. You can tweak the water amount depending on your preference also if you prefer a bit firmer or softer rice.I've tried the porridge function as well. Used pinhead oatmeal / steel cut oats. Added before bed, set it to cook and to be ready in the morning. Was also very good. When I've tried to do this in a slow cooker previously, it always overcooked and burnt the porridge slightly. No burning or brown porridge with this. The rice cooker is also relatively compact so doesn't take up too much space.
