Hose is actually meant for use with a pump and existing fittings but I cut the male end off and attached it to my backwash outfeed line on my pool with rubber fittings so then I use the female end and hose as a quick connect when I backwash. The hose is better than my previous rubber hose which which get holes in it from use and age. The fittings are solid aluminum and brass and fit together snugly. Good product with some modification for pool use but not ready for pool use out of the box.

This is for my emergency backup pump should main sump pump go out where this quick connect high volume output hose attaches to the pump and the long hose goes out the lower level window to lawn far from house to drain. Sometimes you learn from experience. Having a backup pump with flexible long hose allows you to bypass your normal ridged plumbing attached to main pump and give you more options to get water out in other ways. This is a great hose for that purpose which takes up very little storage room until needed, if ever, hopefully.

I'm a camlock fitting fangirl. Weird? Maybe. But if you know, you know. This hose comes with the fittings attached to either end, and feels very secure. The clips are easy to use and it could not be simpler to hook up the pump to drain our pool. In order to use this hose with a sump pump with a 1.5 inch NPT (threaded) outlet, I had to buy a type a camlock adapter. You can find them easily for about $10-13, and the hassle this type of hose connection saves is absolutely worth it.The hose material is thick and durable, I foresee it lasting me many seasons. When it eventually wears out, I'm definitely swiping the fittings and putting them on a new hose.

I got this because I was using PVC pipes to attach to the PVC pipe coming from my backwash. I disconnect one end of this hose and connected it to the PVC pipe coming from my pool. Worked great! I’m using this as a backwash hose to no issues with pressure in the hose. Some have stated that the walls of this hose are thin and while it does seem a little on the thin side, it works perfectly as a backwash hose.
