Has anyone tried both this unit and the plunger type? How did they compare?

I don't know what a plunger is. all i know is we tried another brand mandolin and my wife feels this is the best constructed and safest she's ever used.

Praktisches Gerät zum Gemüse schneiden und hobeln

Als Allererstes wurde das Gerät zum rohen Kartoffeln in Scheiben zu schneiden ausprobiert. Es funktionierte wunderbar und schnell. Die Dicke der Scheiben kann man stufenlos einstellen. Das Schneiden von Stiften ist in zwei Grössen möglich. Alle Gemüsearten wie Kohl usw. werden schön gleichmässig geschnitten und gehobelt. Schützt die Finger und alles ohne Strom. Zum Reinigen das Gerät auseinander ziehen und je nach Verschmutzung unter fliessendes Wasser halten oder in die Spülmaschine. Für den Haushalt wunderbar.
