Raises the temperature to where I need it.
Bought one of these for my two gallon Anchor hocking jar, and two gallon stoneware crock. It is a perfect fit on the bottom. I use these for kombucha. I have the mat on a granite countertop and have the jar(s) sitting directly on top. Temperature before application of this mat hovered around 72 degrees (room temperature) for both containers. After application, it STAYS at 76 degrees. So this was just what I was looking for. In addition, with my last batch of Kombucha (glass container), I started the water too cold. It was around 62-66 degrees. Again, I placed the glass jar on the mat, and it brought it up to 76 degrees--where it stays. That's for two gallons, it may raise the temperature even higher for one gallon.Furthermore, I used this mat with my two gallon stoneware crock. It had the same effect (74 to 76 degrees), albeit at a much slower rate. In that instance, it was also under the same conditions--on a granite countertop. The cord is six feet long. The temperature strip that comes with it is useful, and accurate, but I use another brand.

Perfect and not noticeable...keeping the Kombucha at 79 degrees...LOVE IT!!!!!
It clearly states that it does not have temperature control...so that was not in my expectations. I researched and some times it is best not to have that feature...Anyway, it fits perfectly with my continuous brew crock and the temperature is now remaining at a constant 79degrees...the little extra heat is making for a quicker ferment ...that is what I was wanting it to do. Also...looks matter to me and I did not want some 6' cord with a lot of controls cluttering up my kitchen.

Must Buy for Kombucha Brewing
I've been making kombucha for a while now and wanted to prepare for the upcoming colder days, this mat was my solution! The stand is not included but that doesn't take away from the power of the mat. It says it heats up 5-15 degrees but for my 2 gallon batch it heated it up from 70°F to about 75-76°F. It needs to be plugged in constantly so keep that in mind. LOVE IT! Much better then the heat bands I've bought in the past.

giving me around +4 degrees for a ceramic crock with kombucha
this heating pad is adding a few degrees to the fermentation temperature of kombucha in a large ceramic crock. The crock is on a typical wood counter stand and it fits perfectly. The ambient temp of my apartment is around 68 and the (included) temperature strip is showing around 72 after 48 hours so that looks pretty steady. So in this case no need for temperature control, just running continually seems to be doing the trick.

Sped My Winter Brew!
I've been running continuous brew Kombucha for a number of years. In the summer, I can pour in a gallon of sweet tea in the morning, and decant a gallon of finished 'bucha in the evening. In the winter, however, it can take 3 days for the same gallon. With this awesome little pad, I was able to cut that to one day this winter! Will be recommending this to our Kombucha Brewers Group! Thanks!

Works well for the price
There is no temperature control, but it keeps a 2 gallon crock at a comfy 74-78 degrees.

Great price on a quality product
I make the best kombucha, even though I keep the heat low in the house. Works great under my jar
