Very good packaging. Should be ok to store in vehicle. 5 year shelf life. The package contains 12 individually wrapped 200 calorie bars. They are pretty tasty, but easily crumbled. They are supposed to be non-thirst provoking, but you're going to need something to wash them down. They are very dry.I'd say pack a ziploc bag with it so you don't lose bars after opening the outer packaging. The plastic wrap on individual bars is pretty tough and since the bar crumbles easily, pack a small razor knife to open them.

These arrived sealed well with a heavy, vacuum packed outer foil wrapper. Inside there is a light weight, shrink wrapping around each, individual bar. The bars are very dry and crumble easily. Minimal flavor, but have some slight variation in taste and texture throughout each bar that improves them very slightly. I doubt they would survive much packing around, but might do slightly better inside the original vacuum packing. Once that layer is open, they are likely to crumble to dust. I would be very hard up and hungry before I would elect to eat these. The Russian survival bars taste much better, have better flavor, don’t leave the mouth as dry, don’t appear crumbly (are just a little on the hard side, but appear more likely to survive packing around). Buy the Russian bars instead of these unless you really like dry and crumbly food. They aren’t hideous, but I won’t be buying more.
