A fast professional camera with excellent image quality.
Camera was new and came with all the accessories. The camera itself is amazing. The custom settings c1 to c7 allows for quick change in setup. The sensor read out is fast and image quality is very good. There are way too many settings and can be overwhelming. I have only got to know the photography setting for now. The video settings are even more.I did not see any autofocus issues. I do have the latest 7.2 firmware. Have been using it with the new 500mm f5.6 and the autofocus is snappy. The auto focus setting needs to be tuned to your photography and it will work well. Trying out different setup helps. Then just assign it to a custom setting C1 to C7.

The perfect hybrid camera!
The Fujifilm X-H2S in my opinion is the perfect hybrid camera.Fujifilm has made really thoughtful decisions on the design of this camera. They have gone with a stacked sensor and the same resolution as the previous generation. The stacked sensor means a very fast sensor readout, making this a great camera for silent shooting, sports and video.Keeping the resolution at 26MP reduces the possibility of noise creeping up associated with fast sensor. So a fantastic compromise, that doesn’t bow down to marketing. We as photographers are better for that. This is an excellent camera for both photographers and videographers!A quick background:I am a Sony full frame photographer that has been using every version of the A7R series. I currently have the A7R IV.I did have the Fujifilm X-H1, but regretfully sold it a couple of months ago to focus on one system.I was on vacation in Europe when the Fujifilm X-H2S was announced, so I really did not get the time to follow the release. On getting back and curating some of the pictures from my vacation, I realized some of my favorite photographs were from the X-H1.This led me to take a second look at the X-H2S. This camera is exactly the balance that I was looking for and the bonus is the excellent Fujifilm “film” simulations. The picture look great straight out of the camera. The Eterna video profile also really reduces the need to process video on the computer. It just looks great. The high speed readout of the sensor makes silent shooting practical and videos looking great. This is not just a great sports and video camera, but a great all around camera.I think it is worth the asking price over competitors at the same level, even full frame ones. It’s been a week since I purchased and will update this review as I gain more experience with it.I am tempted to get another body in the near future. It’s that good.Highly recommended!Update 3/23/2025After all this time, I still feel this the most balanced hybrid camera made across all formats (full frame/35mm, APS-C, 4/3)This is among the few cameras that can record ProRes internally. Not even the A9II, A9II with full frame sensors at significantly higher price can do this. While I love my Sony system, I depend on the X-H2S as a hybrid for double duty as an exceptional video and photo machine. The build quality and weather protection is exceptional. The top LCd is great to get a Quick Look at my settings. The X-H2S hs aged beautifully and this model is still extremely powerful and balanced compared to the cameras released in the last couple of years. The CFexpressB slot is great for high capacity cards to do double duty for video and burst photo shooting. I use the second sd card slot for Heif/jpeg.If you want a future proof camera, this is the closet you can get.

Best hybrid camera
Amazing camera for video! Stacked sensor is great for both photo and video and the quality of 4k or 6k videos is amazing! I really love Fuji cameras and it was though choosing between this and the Xh2 but the speed of this camera for me it’s the key feature! Autofocus is ok after the firmware update but that’s expected with all Fuji cameras

Worth every cent.
I shoot mostly automotive and racetrack photography and this camera did not disappoint. It was fast enough to lock on cars with the new car tracking feature and made it out unscathed when i had to shoot in the pouring rain. Fujifilm out did themselves with this camera and i definitely see Fujifilms being more common in sports photography in coming years if they keep on this path. My only annoyance I had with this camera is flog 2. The lowest iso you can select is 1250. It made the darks in my videos grainy at times, although easily reversible with denoising tools.

Beautiful camera, full frame quality
First let me say that I had all three major brands in their FF format: Nikon, Sony and Canon. I still own a full Canon RF kit that costed me the whole annual bonus. The only APS-C I had in my life was an old D3200 when I began with this hobby. Now, due to portability and cost I decided to give a try to Fujifilm too, and I started with a X-T5; beautiful camera, extremely elegant, but the autofocus was not up to the job for my needs (i.e. taking pictures of my son playing soccer, and other tasks on the same line). So, I've decided to return it and to go with the X-H2S instead which is reported as the brand's flagship within the APS-C format. I received it only earlier today so I've been testing it just for few hours, but my first impression is that it's absolutely amazing. The picture quality is - to me - equivalent to FF sensors. The same for the dynamic range. The most incredible feature to me is the autofocus: I can't honestly tell the difference vs. my Canon R5 (the comparison was done with 35mm f1.8 Canon vs. 27mm f1.4 Viltrox, so not exactly the same conditions, but still equally impressive). The ergonomic is one of the best I have ever felt in any camera: bulky but light, and with an amazing firm grip. It's incredible to me to see how many progresses have been within the APS-C world since my experience with the D3200. I will take it out for testing on a soccer field and for some bird photography soon (I can't wait).

Autofocus is inoperable
Bought this cam with lenses 2 years ago. When I first purchased the autofocus was reliable and useful. Now after updating firmware a few times the autofocus has taken a huge dip. Many users are flipping out online. I’m only writing this review to help people not make the same mistake I made. Buy something from another brand. Obviously Fuji does not have a great team doing quality assurance with updates.
