Just Buy All 3...
If you're considering this, then you probably want to read one long cohesive story. Kirkman and Ottley give you that and more in these three compendiums. The art is amazing. The battles are epic. You will fall in love with the characters and quickly realize everything Kirkman offers you will be used. He doesn't waste characters or plot.I bought all 3 compendiums. I read them over the course of 3 months and think about them often. Ryan Ottley is incredibly talented as the artist here. You will wonder how he was able to keep this ridiculous schedule for so long and honestly get better and better. One of my favorite series ever.

Marvel & DC would sacrifice virgins to have a series this good.
I own the first three smaller trade paperbacks so I knew the kind of comic I was buying. With the new Amazon show around the corner, I finally got the bug to finish it. The three compendiums were going to be perfect. My comic collection is above 4000, with hundreds & hundreds of titles, and Invincible is easily in my top 10. Tropes are subverted beautifully, characters are well-defined with clear motivations & relatability, the plots are familiar yet totally fresh, and the art is stylish, clean, and beautiful.DC & Marvel's superheroes are not easy for new readers to sink their teeth into due to decades upon decades of convoluted & contradictory continuity & characterization. Invincible doesn't have that problem. The closest the Big 2 have gotten to the new & exciting feeling inside Invincible's pages was the first few years of Marvel's Ultimate Comics line.If you like to have fun while escaping into a story, you won't be disappointed with Invincible.I went ahead and ordered even though some copies had misprinting, I knew that it would only be a handful of copies with that problem, which could make those misprint versions worth more coincidentally. Although I did sleep easier once I had confirmed on Twitter with the creator/writer Robert Kirkman that the misprint issue had been fixed.

It's worth it, just don't be an idiot an drop it in a pool.
Both one of the best comics I have ever read and one of the most efficient collections I have ever laid my hands on. The book itself is a beast, being over 800 pages and with each page having fairly strong paper production that holds the entire book strongly. This is impressive, because even with the The Walking Dead Compendium, Spiderman Man Omnibus, and the DC Classic Collections, the paper is often not good enough or the make up isn't strong enough to hold the book to make them last five years, tops. This collection on the other hand I can see myself having it for forever. As for the comic, dear lord, this is easily one of the most engaging, brutal, and entertaining stories I have ever read. The art is spectacular, the characters and actually well written, and the heroes actually deal with enormous moral and physical dilemma that I have always wanted to see tackled in the Superhero Medium. By the time I finish this story (being 2/3 done already) I have determined that this comic not only might be one of the best superhero stories, but the greatest work in fiction, period. No other medium has made me feel this much emotion. Simply fantastic, and I urge everyone to buy this masterpiece and support everyone who was involved in the creation of this beauty. I can easily say that I will be reading this story over and over again for decades to come.

Kirkman’s best.
The Walking Dead’s success (compared to Invincible), both in print and on screen, leaves me dissatisfied with the general public’s idea of Robert Kirkman. The Walking Dead has far outshined Invincible in the general public’s eye, which is a tragedy.Invincible is a love letter to anyone read Superhero comics growing up and and the genre itself. What could easily have been considered hackey with it’s references, homages, and commentary remained fresh and innovative all the way to the end.The collection itself is decently hefty, the art loses little to no quality, and ultimately a great deal for those looking to branch out into Image Comics, or those who’d like to collect the run in a more readable way than the individual issues.

Excellent book hindered but misprinting
Someone else mentioned that they had printing issues with theirs too. I had the same exact issue. I contacted amazon about it and they sent a new one to replace it but I had the same print issue too so now I have two copies after getting a refund. If anyone is coming across this problem just a heads up, with amazon prime you can use comixology for free and you can borrow the proper issues that are misprinted. I ended up doing this and was able to finish reading the rest of it.I don’t want this review to reflect on how the book is because it is actually incredibly good. Just unfortunate that there is a misprint that can hinder some people from buying it

Excellent, but hard to read in the bath
A great, cost effective way of reading the Invincible story from the beginning. I'm a fan of the standard DC and Marvel superheroes and picked this up on a whim. It stands up to these old favourites very well. The story, whilst still very much a superhero comic, doesn't patronise the reader like some other series do. The only other thing worth mentioning is that this is a very large book, so is tricky, but not impossible, to read in the bath; a key factor in any book buying decision.
