MGC Original Dansk Peber/Tyrkisk Turkish Pepper 1000 gram / 1 KG/ 35 oz

I love salty licorice and sweet licorice, but I don't like when my favorite kinds of soft licorice get stuck in my teeth, so I tried Tyrkisk Peber as my first type of hard licorice candy. It is wonderful! The price from the seller was so much less than other sellers who were providing the original packaging. I actually prefer the plastic jar with the screw cap - it will stack in my pantry and stay fresher.There is a little bit of salmiak dust on the outside of the candy. That gives you the initial salty licorice flavor and fortunately it does not have the sinus unclogging power of Piratos or Djunglevral, so you do not get a powerful ammonia kick.The licorice flavor is strong but not too intense, and then after the candy dissolves a bit, the pepper and salmiak flavor in the center becomes more apparent. It was a nice contrast, and again, not too hot. It was not like eating a Thai chili, and not even as peppery as Siracha sauce. I think the hard candy also helps you pace yourself, because they are so good that you will want to eat more than just a few.

This candy is yummy (as long as you like strong, salty and spicy liquorice) and the people selling it are super nice. I have ordered from them four times so far. The delivery is fast, they respond immediately to any question and the last time they sent my order with complementary samples of different liquorice candy. I loved it!

These candies are so yummy. I had originally bought some while in Sweden, and have hoarded them well past their prime. But no longer do i have to, thanks to Amazon and My German Candy.They taste exacly the same as the ones i bought in sweden.I do like the container it comes in, because now my wife wont hear me opening the noisey bags..lol..

These are much cheaper than the overpriced Fazer candies, and good in its own right. If you expected the exact same as Fazer candies you may be disappointed, though, as the flavor of both the candies and the filling are both much milder. It's a plus that they're sold in a plastic jar as they stay good longer and you don't have to deal with crushed bits and pieces stuck to the inside of a bag.UPDATE: Looks like the candies at the top of the jar were milder flavored than the rest. Still not quite on the level of the originals, but pretty good! Considering the price and packaging I would likely buy these again.UPDATE2: I bought more of the same candies, as well as some Fazer original Tyrkisk Peber to compare and I found I prefer the ones from MyGermanCandy. They are much "creamier" and not as prone to crunch into little bits. I'm addicted.

Meh....not spicy enough :-/ It wa a bit of a let-down, since I expected these Turkish Pepper candies to have more of the hot spice inside the center, like others I've tasted in the past. Otherwise, the outer portion of the candy tasted fine. It's a decent Salmiaki (salted licorice candy) if you like them very mild.

OMG ... I'm so glad I ordered these! They are awesome, just like the once I used to get in my homeland Iceland. I like the way they are packaged in a jar to keep them fresh!

My German Candy shipped the product out fast, packed it well and priced it fairly. This licorice has a lot of flavor and tastes very fresh.

These are great, just as I remember them. Quite glad to find these on Amazon. If you are a fan of black licorice they are highly recommended!
