Used this hair color for years.....love it

I have used Naturtint many times and trying to find the exact level of color I want but so far no success. The product by itself is very good , I mean no strong smell , easy to apply , doesn't drip and the color stays on my grey hair for about a month for me washing 3 to 4 times a week . For those who shampoo their hair more than five times a day ( e.g during every daily shower ) , it may not stay on hair longer than 20 to 25 days . Thats what I believe cos I sometimes write the date of hair dye and count the number shower and the days that the color stay on grey hair . Anyways , I am o.k with it as long as it doesn't fade in less than 20 days . My biggest problem is to find the right level and tone for my dark brown or kinda soft black hair . This 5N ( light Chestnut ) dye doesn't give my grey hair the color of light chestnut , not even dark chestnut . Instead the results are black color even on new grey hair ( never colored before ). I therefore switched to Golden Chestnut but that too was hardly golden or even light chestnut . With that too , my grey hair came out to be darkest brown . I don't know whats the reason. I do note the time when I finish applying it and never give more than the recommended time from finishing application to rinsing it thoroughly with shampoo. Possibly , the dark results may be due to the longer time ( usually 30 to 35 minutes ) it takes me from starting the application to finishing the application , after which I give the recommended 30 to 35 minutes till rinsing it . Anyways , I like everything about the product except the level of color it gives to my hair .

I have naturally light brown/dark blond ashy hair. I use the 5N chestnut chestnut brown color when I want to dye my hair back to its natural color. It is pretty dark (for me) at first, but after it fades, it matches my color very well. Giving four stars because I've had chunks of hair fall out during the rinsing process, and I don't like that. I follow the instructions to a T, leaving it in on the shorter end of the recommended time. Given that I have chemical sensitivities, I still use this brand when I need to, which is only once every year or two to correct the effects of "the urge for change." (You know how it is... major life change = dye hair blond. Regret as it grows out. Dye back to normal). I know several others who use this brand and do not have any problems with it at all.

I have used this brand for years as I gave up on many other name brands that I have used throughout my lifetime. This brand actually makes your hair feel MORE CONDITIONED than before you dye it!! This brand does not burn your skin or dry out your hair. My hair feels well conditioned, full and fluffy after I use this. My hair is fine and thick and just touches the shoulders. My only complaint is that the little packet of shampoo and conditioner that comes with it has "shrunk" over the years and even with my hair, it is not enough to do the job. Hair color, yes. Shampoo and Conditioner, no. To resolve that, I purchase the "MULTIPLIER" conditioner separately and just mix the shampoo with a clear clarifying shampoo to extend it. The conditioner is great too in that it is not "greasy" or flattening like most. I recomment this product, but if your hair is long, purchase a separate bottle of conditioner. Hope this helps!! OH!!! The color is BEAUTIFUL too!! Shiney, soft and rich!! It also lasts 3 times longer than any other brand I have ever used!!
