Wiz Dice - Fudge Dice GM Starter Set - Polyhedral Set with Bag for RPG Adventure Games - D6 Dice with Plus, Minus, and Blank Faces - Mystical - 20 ct

This is an excellent set. of Fudge/Fate dice. Fudge and Fate dice are the same thing. They are six-sided dice where each die has two blank sides, two + sides and two - sides. They are rolled in sets of four, with each + being a +1 and each - being a -1 (resulting in a bell curve roll of +4 to -4). With this product you get five sets in different colors: marbled "gold" dice with black lettering, mottled black dice with the "gold" lettering, marbled "copper" dice with white lettering, marbled white dice with "gold" lettering, and marbled blue dice with white lettering. Of the five sets, all but the blue is "thematic". The blue doesn't really fit the earth tones of the others, but that isn't much of an issue (and it could be handy for a GM to have a color that stands out). I wouldn't have gone with gold on the white dice — I would have gone with black for better contrast — but it's not horrible. The bonus dice bag is a standard (i.e. not lined) dice bag which would cost three bucks or so on its own. The five dice fit in it, but there isn't much room for additional dice. The dice are about the same size as Evil Hat's Fate dice, but they don't have beveled corners. I think this is a bonus, as sharper corners tend to roll more randomly. The markings aren't as big as those on Fate dice, but I have no trouble reading them. I wish the dice bag had room for my Fate dice as well, but that's really quibbling considering with this product you get five sets of dice and a dice bag for less than one package of Fate dice (which has 3 sets of dice and no dice bag). If you need Fudge or Fate dice and you're okay with these colors, then buying this set is a no-brainer.

The quality of these dice are excellent, and you can't beat having a full set of dice ready for a table of four players and a GM for under $10. Other reviewers mentioned loose dice in their packaging. My dice arrived in a sealed ziplock bag with all the dice accounted for. The carrying bag is a nice touch too and smaller than I expected, which makes this a nice choice to have in my gaming bag. You really can't ask for much more at this price point; stylish, functional, and perfect to have with for any new players getting introduced to the hobby or any of your regular friends who can't be bothered to remember their own set. But hey, you managed to get everyone in the same room to play, so you might as well eliminate every barrier to getting your session started that you can. Happy adventuring, everyone!

The Good: The dice are cool, and the price of the product was great compared to others. The drawstring bag is a nice bonus. The Bad: This arrived in an Amazon box with other products, and all the dice were loose and rattling around. I am missing one of the "stardust" dice. Don't order this at the same time as paperback books.

Unfortunately, mine came dirty, but they were “sealed” in a ziploc bag. They would have been 5 stars if clean. Update: decided to reorder and the next batch was fine.

These dice were perfect for our Fate campaign. They were much prettier than on the website, which made my dice goblins happy.

I was a little hesitant to order this dice set, after seeing mixed reviews - but I'm glad I did. As a well-versed tabletop gamer (in other systems), I know all too well that it's rare to be able to buy system-specific accessories (in this case, dice) for five players for less than $10. This is my group's first foray into Fate Core, and - true to the pay-what-you-want, open-source spirit of the system - this set of dice allows you to dive in with minimal cost. The dice are of the standard, d6 size. They are a little light in the hand, for their size, but that's not so off-putting, in the long run. If you want chunkier, heavier dice, there are more expensive sets out there that fill that need. The dice fit snugly in the little brown bag, which was a little smaller than I envisioned, but perhaps all the better for it. It would take up no room at all in a backpack or purse. (Not entirely relevant, but I also purchased the Fate Core System Rulebook, and it was smaller than expected, too - again, much to my pleasant surprise.) I think it's important to mention: I did not have to buy the book - I had already downloaded the PDF for free from the Evil Hat website - but even doing so, my whole group can now play Fate Core for less than $30. This, to me, is so much in keeping with the accessibility that is among the tenets of this system. As someone who has played Dungeons & Dragons and the FFG Star Wars RPG (both of which I love), I have become accustomed to spending A LOT of money to have even the basic books necessary to play a game. I have fallen in love with Fate Core for so many reasons, and this is one of them. To address some of the biggest complaints I've read: - I received five complete sets of dice in the colors displayed in the item photo: white, black, blue, gold and green. I was most nervous after reading reviews from folks who said they didn't receive complete sets of dice. This wasn't an issue for me. While I was glad that I got the item-as-shown, it wouldn't have been the end of the world if the green set had been omitted and the bronze set included. - To the last point, the shipping packaging left something to be desired. The bag itself was loose in the box and the dice were loose in the bag - I could see how, if the box were banged around or damage, dice could fall out in transit (leading to the incomplete sets described above.) This is an issue that could easily be fixed by the manufacturer by simply sealing the dice in a little plastic bag for transit purposes. If you're willing to take the slight chance that other, more negative (and rightly so, it seems) reviews have highlighted, it's certainly a worthwhile buy.

This dice are as nice as any other brand. Whats great about this set is there's enough for 4 players & a GM. Having ran a FAE game over the holidays with 8 green players. A set of dice between two was a non-issue. I personally find the conversion of numbered dice to be a marginal problem & haven't seen anyone struggle with it. However if you run the system often, it helps remove one hurdle with new players.

All but the brown set included an extra die, for a total of 24, which was a welcome surprise. The description says 20, the label says 20, but there we are. Price seems to fluctuate for this "Terrestrial" Fudge dice set, but I paid less than £13 and certainly can't complain at that. Moulding seems even and compared to some alternatives the symbols are large and clear. The bag is small but adequate, fitting the dice comfortably. All in all an attractive and very usable collection of Fudge dice at a good price.

I'm GMing a Fate game and I got these for the table. Good price for this many dice. They are beautiful and it helps starting players to feel more engaged on the game. The little bag is of good quality and very compact.
