This was a no-brainer purchase. For the price it punches well above its weight, the Torque Test channel sung its praises, and I’ve had a great time using this for anything from working on the cars to installing framing shear wall hardware to installing steel pre-fabbed stairs. I’d recommend this one unless you are diesel mechanic or a professional mechanic who needs all the torque a hand tool could possibly have. Even then, this wrench could probably do 90% of your jobs with far less weight

nice tool removes lug nuts with plenty of power

I have used the DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Impact Wrench, 1/2" Hog Ring for car maintenance and various tasks around the home, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. Its compact design and reliable performance make it a go-to tool for any job. I purchased the bare tool and added a DEWALT battery, which was convenient since I already own other tools in the DEWALT 20V lineup. Exactly as advertised powerful enough to loosen and set lugnuts. Recommend torquing them by hand afterward just to be sure.

Performed as needed & torque delivered was very adequate. Have used Dewalt in past & am satisfied. Deducted one star, as another reviewer noted, the sliding switch for reverse/forward is a bit cheap, does not feel like a solid slide with the switch that "takes" very well. Its only maybe a 3mm movement but compared to other brands, this does not feel solid or designed well. Also, the task light is mounted near the battery rather than on the anvil, like my other Dewalt drivers. It works but lighting can be obstructed on the task in tight places like i had to use this impact wrench for most recently. Again, as another reviewer noted, its annoying to change the light adjustment brightness button or the drive program buttons with the light shining directly in your eyes as you toggle through the functions. This was not well designed. I definitely think the task light location could have been better placed in the anvil area. Otherwise the weight, balance & design of this item is mostly well done. I needed a more powerful driver, hence this purchase & it delivered. Definitely has the torque for lug nut removal and beyond.

Shipped faster than expected, i’ve had no issue removing lug nuts and rusty bolts with it, and it’s not as big and heavy as the high torque ones. Perfect for beginners, diy or professionals

I recently have been in a bit of a buying spree when it comes to automotive tools. Mostly due to me being a novice. But I've been debating the difference between Milwaukee, Dewalt and some of Harbor freight brands. And I gotta say I almost caved in for Hercules, although I might return for them someday. This tool made a good first impression, I used it for one time and simply exchanged it for a stronger model with more torque. It is lightweight, easy to handle and it doesn't feel brittle. I am rather ignorant about Dewalts sub lines, like the atomic series compact nature as well as the XR series which tends to mean "extra power". I suggest you pick it up for $170 maybe a bit more. But the torque that it delivers is great for the money you're spending. But overtime depending on what application you use it for. I don't think it's meant to take on heavy machinery. Just standard civilian vehicles and bolts you can find in commercial sites.
