Elden Ring Official Strategy Guide, Vol. 1: The Lands Between (Books of Knowledge)

These physical guides are a rare thing these days, especially when of this quality and detail, they're no way perfect, no doubt have mistakes that will never be fixed, omissions and content passed over, but as a general guide they tick all bases as adequate and useful. My guides arrived in perfect condition, yet the packaging was equal to the strength of a cobweb, minimal is being generous. I brought 2 sets, one planned as a gift, the 4th volume i purchased at a 'poultry seller', which arrived in sturdy cardboard, not perfect, but better, one copy even came from the US due to limited stock...perfect condition. These guides are bound beautifully, the paper is of high quality, a slight sheen, and the inks are easily read, bright, colourful, but not overly vivid. These 2 guides are each as expensive as the game, but should be judged on their own merits, both guides enhance the overall gameplay experience, but any guide should be used sparingly on the 1st playthrough, otherwise it devalues their purpose. Good value, excellent quality and detail and reasonable price.

This book is amazing, full of detailed maps, questline info for each character (step-by-step guides which tell you exactly what conditions you need to meet to progress each character's story). The book also shows how to achieve the various endings, and has walkthroughs for the numerous castles, dungeons etc. Paper is the semi-glossy type and there is a built in bookmark ... The whole thing is a 5 stars for production quality and 5 stars for content. You also get a giant double-sided A1 map of the Elden Ring world (was a shock to find I've only visited about 60% of it!). One star for the condition book was received in - marks indented on the front and back, with damage to one corner. Book was shipped in a thin cardboard envelope so if not already damaged while being handled before shipping, it would likely have been damaged in transit. Just be aware there's a good chance your book will not arrive intact due to Amazon's poor choice of handling/packaging. I've returned my copy for a refund, cancelled my Amazon order for Volume 2 and will buy elsewhere - hopefully other retailers will pack things properly! As you can see, I've given the book 5 stars because it deserves it and the content of the book should not be downmarked due to logistical issues in my opinion, but if there was also an option to rate handling/delivery it would be ZERO stars.

I’ve been waiting for this for months. Elden ring is one of the best games I’ve ever played and Future Press have done it justice with this beautiful guide. I have their guides for bloodborne and the dark souls trilogy and this guide for elden ring is the same clear, quality book we’ve seen from them before. Its very chunky and for good reason going into such a big game in incredible detail. Every illustration, every map, every piece of information is spot on. Even comes with a high quality poster with the full map on complete with all the underground area maps as well. Overall I’m in love with this book and cannot wait to receive the second volume.

This book is a printed wikipedia. A nicely produced wikipedia, but a wiki nonetheless. You are not really getting a true strategy guide, certainly not a lore book (the whole story section of the two books together is the last 10 pages of the first book) and not an art book (every picture is taken in-game except for the chapter titles). If you are looking for those, you will not find them here. What you do get here are detailed maps with locations and items, quest line explanations, list of every spell, object, and enemy in the game. But let's be frank here: you will never ever use it for that information since you will get it way faster on the internet, whether you left that melted mushroom in the area or not. Also, everything is quite literally taken from the game, so if you read the item description, then you have read everything. So if you are looking for something mentioned in the first few sentences or you think you want to regularly grab this book for reading, please don't buy it. If you are looking for something Elden Ring related that is great quality and you can put it out for display and very rarely browse through it out of nostalgia, then it is a book worth getting.

I have other Future Press guides, they're always of the highest quality and this one is no exception, it's absolutely packed with information and beautifully presented. Unfortunately the whole experience has been marred by the fact it was delivered in a brown paper bag?? Just as if someone had wrapped a single sheet of brown paper around it, enough to conceal what it is but offering zero protection to the book. As a result the top has been squashed, the spine is crushed and one corner is dented and the black outer has split completely. Just because it's a book it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve some respect as far as packaging is concerned, it still cost me £40. Yet again Amazon are completely out of touch with their customers, I'm tempted to ask for a replacement but any money it'd turn up even worse next time. I await the state of the second installment with baited breath.

High quality photos with an abundance of written text, excellent maps with locations for any item or entity within the game, boss tips & tricks, numbers, in depth descriptions. This book has everything. Not to mention the best part which is an in depth comprehensive guide for NPC quests! This game is notorious for its extremely delicate and intricate NPC questlines which can be very difficult to track, progress and not mess up. The Book explains where quests can be lost or potentially ruined, when they clash with other NPCs and of course explains how to get the multiple endings within the game. 10/10. 5 stars. A must buy.

I had the same issue as a lot of other reviewers, absolutely love the quality and content of the book but it was shipped in some crappy cardboard carton and has a huge dent in the front. That aside I highly recommend the book itself, when you see the quality and attention to detail in it you'll agree its well worth the money. The images are crisp and the detail in descriptions is almost *too* much. Foul tarnished, in search of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition this guide is essential for that platinum.

Excellent book, really good quality pages and information. It ensures you understand every system of the game and every part of the maps including rewards, locations and bosses. Very informative and complete guide of 100% instances, items and locations. I love this book so much I pre-ordered part II already. Regards to condition, mine came without problem however I can see why people are having problems with the corners. Amazon are not packaging the book correctly in the box to protect it from damage in transit. Please amazon, put some foam over the 4 corners of the book in the box to prevent damage to the book. Its such an easy fix.
