Deceitful ad
Misleading ad. Says drum pad but, in actuality it's just the skin. The description even says the usb, app, etc that'll come with purchase of this item. Lies

while I bought the parts separately I can atleast say it's pretty cool and straight foward !! It came so much faster than it was expected to come too which is wild considering it ships all the way from France !!

Bad. In so many ways.
customer service sucks, included software is bad and they recommend paying 50$ more on top of what you already paid to get the “pro” software.Couldn’t update firmware with my pc had to use the iOS software. Sensitivity is poor, the app has midi exclusivity so can’t use with a daw. Only has 5 basic scales in the included software. No way to change sensitivity or mpe settings with the included software. Company says all this can be solved if you buy their “pro” software which has more scales and settings. No mention of the need of this pro software in their sponsored videos on YouTube. No mention of the pro software on the purchase page for the j-play or pads. You can drop 300$+ for the device and pads and then they want you to still buy the good software? No thanks. Brought up this issue to customer service who were unhelpful. This device is a flop. Don’t buy.

I love the Play! Super versatile, super usable, and nicely sustainable.
I love the Play! I've experimented with a number of small, creative MIDI controllers in the past, and although I've enjoyed them, they're often unwieldy, difficult to connect to my computer, or have a form factor that makes them difficult to play with a computer in portable settings. I love that the Play is slim, portable, uncomplicated, and versatile (via the pads). The practice and cover-song features of the app add functionality for new users and help even people accustomed to MPE/creative MIDI controllers get accustomed to the specific quirks of the Play quickly.I really love the focus on sustainability from Joue, and I appreciate that the device doesn't have its own battery which requires charging. At the same time, that can introduce minor inconveniences - needing the extra adapter to plug it into a lightning port, or needing to think creatively about where to position the cable for a computer (although you can easily fit the Play between yourself and a laptop on a desk, which is absolutely terrific). The only real gripe I have is needing to pay for the Pro Option upgrade to get some of the important settings. It annoys me, but I knew it going in. In general, I love the Play - it might be my favorite MIDI controller yet.

Don’t buy if you want to wooden part too
I thought it was a really cheap MIDI but all that came in the box was the pad. It’s not as advertised and only the first picture is what you get
