I love this book!
I'm always a firm believer that the best way to truly understand engineering topics is to go through difficult, multi-layer practice problems over and over until the solution and the reasoning behind it is ingrained in your head. And this book offers nothing short of it. I love how its packed with questions that requires you to know concepts and formulas from other sections. It really tests your knowledge and problem solving skills for the AIT problems offered in the PE exam. This is a must have in your arsenal for any engineer working towards their PE licensure.

Highly Effective for Real Exam Prep
Another excellent resource by Zach Stone, PE! The AIT (Alternative Item Type) practice problems are incredibly well-designed and mimic the structure and format of the actual exam perfectly. It gave me a clear understanding of what to expect on test day, especially with the newer AIT question formats, which can sometimes catch people off guard. What I appreciated most was the emphasis on practical application—each problem feels like something a practicing engineer would encounter, making the experience highly relevant. The detailed solutions provided are another highlight. They don’t just give you the correct answer—they walk you through the reasoning and steps, ensuring you learn from every mistake. This made the material not just a practice tool but a learning resource in itself.

Stellar Test Prep Material
Zach's class and the Electrical Power PE Practice Exam: 80 AIT Practice Problems are exactly what you need to feel confident for the PE exam. The questions are well-designed to match the CBT format, reinforcing key concepts like rounding and significant figures. In fact, the material goes beyond what’s needed for the actual test, which means you’ll walk in overprepared—exactly the mindset you want for such a tough exam. If you’re serious about passing, this is the way to go!

Great Study Resource!!!
I'm taking Zach Stone's review course now, and used this as my second timed practice exam a few weeks ago. Compared to the official NCEES practice exam, it is more difficult but the solutions explanation provided are much MUCH better! Zach is very good at explaining solutions in easy to understand terms. As a tool to get more practice in on key subjects, this is a near perfect resource! For that reason I give it 5 stars! That being said, I did have two gripes when I took it as a timed practice test. First, the questions are arranged by subject with the more challenging ones in the second half, which I found frustrating at the time. Second, the NEC questions are at the very end and I felt a few of them were too broad in scope for a timed practice test. In retrospect these are both more pro than con if your goal is to better prepare yourself for the real test, so I didn't deduct any stars for that. You'll learn more from this test than you will from the NCEES official practice test, especially if you read through his guide at the beginning on how to use this resource and follow through with his recommendations! The only other thing I'll point out is that this is an AIT only test, meaning the questions are not multiple choice. The real exam includes some multiple choice and some AIT format problem. This practice exam presents all of the questions in the various AIT formats you could see (i.e. select all that apply, fill in the blank, drag and drop, interact with the figure, etc.). That makes it a little more challenging but also makes it a better gauge of where you stand, and he provides a benchmark of what a solid first time score looks like, which I found very helpful.
