Padded Rugby Helmet Protective Soft Shell Headgear for Hockey Football Soccer Goalie

I actually have a cranioplasty and my regular helmet was way to heavy. I asked Dr. if I could use this. He said yes.I found it to be nicely adjustable, lightweight and easy to wear.

Looked like the picture and fit my 12 year olds head perfect.

I got this for my 11y/o son for when he does martial arts. He has had three cranial reconstructive surgeries and we wanted a little extra padding for his head, just in case. Though they work with him to avoid hitting the mat with his head, it is piece of mind. It is lightweight and fits his head ok. The straps allow it to adjust to his head.

Padding is pretty good - it matches your typical padding for other protective sportswear.I can hear just fine with the helmet on and this is lightweight+comfortable enough to wear for extended periods at a time. I'd prefer if the back strap had an overlap system rather than form a large gap, but it's rare to fall straight backwards anyway. I also found the chin strap to be quite short - could use an extra half inch. I'm at the larger end of the "Medium" helmet spectrum, but this helmet is almost too small.

This is a nice rugby helmet, I use them to prevent self injury in the form of headbanging with some of my kiddos with disabilities. I've encountered many Rugby helmets and the material that makes up this one is a little on the stiff end. The fabric is also a little itchy. I do think it gets the job done and helps to protect their heads well from any impact injury though, so 4 stars!
