LINKYO Compatible Drum Unit Replacement for Brother DR420 DR-420

I love that this a 'drop in' replacement for the more expensive Brother drum. I don't have a good feeling for how the drum or the toner stack up on lifetime since I replace them so seldom (twice a year for toner). We are really light users of our old Brother printer.

We have two Brother printers on our home network both of which now have LINKYO replacement drums in them. They were as easy to put in as was the original factory unit. LINKYO does provide instructions on the box about what steps to take if your Brother printer does not recognize the new drum unit. The reset process is easy and takes no more than three minutes to accomplish. One of our printers had to have the reset process performed on it while the other one did not. The print quality produced by both printers is every bit as the first day we bought them. We also bought a four pack of the LINKYO replacement cartridges (TN450 replacements) at about the same time. Both printers now have replacement LINKYO cartridges in them and again with excellent print quality. The good news is that when purchased as a four pack here on Amazon they run about ten bucks a cartridge, a real bargain. I can highly recommend these items to anyone (I do not work for LINKYO nor had I even heard of them until I started browsing here for replacement drum units). We took the chance. We bought them and they have worked perfectly for us. Everyone out there have a good day.

Purchased this for my Brother HL-2280 to hold a toner cartridge TN-450. Super easy and quick to swap out. Just remove toner from old drum and slide into the new drum by pushing the small green button. Once the drum is swapped, it’s time to install, which is easy as well, but it may get a little tricky to get the printer to realize it’s a new drum. After swapping mine, my printer kept telling me that the toner drum needed to be replaced... After a google search, l learned that for the printer I had, it was two quick steps and I could “reset the drum counter.” Done! Easy! Works great. Only complaint is that the instructions that cane with the drum listed steps to reset the printer for the printer that I had, but they were confusing as heck. If they provided easy to understand instructions, would have been 5 stars

This product was easy to install and is working just fine. It had very clear, precise instructions on how to reset the drum counter. With my Brother Printer, I just held the button while the unit was open. All the lights come on as instructed. Then I close the door with the new drum installed attached to the ink cartridge. The lights cleared to normal and I've been printing ever since. Hopefully this will last as long as the old Brother replacement drum that I bought last time. Why spend all the extra money on the Brother Drum when this aftermarket will do the exact same thing for a fraction of the cost?

Received my replacement drum a few weeks ago. Works great. Price point was excellent. Seller was great. Before my replacement drum came, the seller sent an email telling me there is a page counter that needs to be reset so that the printer knows the drum has been replaced or it will continue displaying the drum needs to be replaced. I did not know this and really appreciate LINKYO making that extra effort and sent me a document that will show me ho to reset it for my printer. Great customer service.

Having just retired (44 years selling paper clips) from a commercial office products regional player I can and will tell you right now that black laser cartridges/drums are as good or better than OEM. Save half easy with a known brand of recycled. I've never had a problem with aftermarket product. Color is iffy...

The product as shipped was defective. As we say "You get what you pay for." Good price , only about 1/2 of the cost of an authentic Brother drum unit. But it didn't work. This product fit only part way into my printer; I ordered this Drum Unit for a Brother 2240 laser printer. Altho it looked identical to the original Brother drum unit, it could not be inserted the final 1" or so into the printer. Amazon sent me a replacement unit which worked fine. But the whole experience was a hassle. 1. going online to Amazon to report the defective unit 2. driving 15 miles RT to the UPS store to return the defective unit.

Used in Brother 7860. Replace drum message was showing for quite a while and eventually copying became slower and slower. Chose the Linkyo replacement as I've used their toner cartridges before successfully and there were some good reviews. The Linkyo drum came with instructions about how to disable the replace drum message which was helpful. The Linkyo drum seems perfect so far but only time will tell about usage. Still it was so much cheaper than a genuine Brother item. In the past I've even bought compatible machines at crazy prices just to get a real drum but this is not only much cheaper but saves having to dump an otherwise new printer
