Hema-Plex Chewable Tablets

I generally have low iron and had to get transfusions twice. I was introduced to this brand through a local health food store. They had it in easy to swallow gel caps/tablets but the chewable form tastes like eating sweet tarts. It has helped my iron along with a diet of foods which are iron fortified. I appreciate this brand of iron because it also acts like my multi-vitamin.

I have been struggling with low iron and decided to try this product. They aren’t the best tasting but they don’t have the negative effects that the pills do. My iron levels have increased a lot in the 2 months I have been taking them.

The smell reminds of heartworm med for my dog. The taste was so disgusting, I only choked down one, partially chewed tablet. A serving size is 3 tablets. I’ll never know if they would help my iron levels because I just can’t put another one of these nasty tasting things in my mouth. Yuck!!

It's my first time trying this vegan chewable iron tablets and I must say the taste is somewhat pleasant. I'm not normally a person to go for chewables but the price was good and it has everything I'm looking for together with iron. I've only just started taking them so when I'm finished and take another set of blood test I'd write another review. My blood is always low no matter what iron supplements I take but if I see an increase in the number I'd definitely continue taking these. I haven't had any difficulties in going to the toilet as with other iron supplements so that's a 5Star from me. The price is good the taste is good so I'm a happy customer.

I ordered these as they were recommended by family members. The first time I had one it had a weird taste. I couldn't stomach having anymore since. The taste is horrible and remains for the rest of the day. Recently I was speaking to my sister about it and she couldn't understand what I was talking about. She showed me the ones she received and they were capsules and not chewable tablets. I had a look at my order and I had also ordered capsules but instead received these horrible inedible tablets. I feel like I have been fobbed off. Really not happy about it. Their not exactly cheap either!

I have only been taking these for a few days now. I originally started taking them as I’m frequently covered in unexplained bruising (anemia bruises), and needed to stop this. My bruises were becoming quite severe causing me pain, but these are helping. The only downside is that the taste is god awful, but that’s expected with Iron tablets that have such a large amount per serving (28mg iron). Other than that, they seem to do the job!
