After a handy man snapped all the lugs the screws go into I though I'd need to replace all the socket boxes. Then I found these. Work a treat. Save a lot of time and money and work as they should.

I had high hopes but these didn't work for me. In my case rather than grip in the box these kept pushing themselve out. I think part of that might be the bolts being an inappropriate length for the box, but if the top and bottom of the expanding part could be improved to grip better, perhaps with a sharp point or some gripping material I think that would also help.The backing box I was using wasnt particularly shallow but I'd suggest one might have more luck with a deeper box. I've also so far only tested with the plastic plasterboard kind, I think these could fair better in a metal patress box due.
